D2| DOMINICAN BEAT CAMPUS JOURNALISM WORKSHOP

Campus Journalism Workshop: Penning for Success

The Campus Journalism Workshop with the theme, "Empowering Voices in the Digital Age: Shaping 21st Century Writers for Progressing SCT Campus Journalism" was held at Siena College Tigaon, Main Campus on July 12 to July 13, 2025.

Students that aspire to be journalists attended the seminar with minds ready to learn. Experts taught the students all about the many events in journalism.

The seminar was planned so that the students of SCT could be prepared for upcoming events related to journalism.

The school invited a total of five guest speakers, namely: Ms. Abbygale V. Ombao, JD, taught about news writing and photojournalism, Mr. Juan Carlos B. Chavez taught about editorial writing, Crish Mark B. De Castro taught about editorial cartooning, Mrs. Alicia B. Chavez taught about newspaper layouting, and Ms. Jane Duazo taught about sports writing and copy reading

The students tried accomplishing the activities given to them by the guest speakers. Most of the students found the activities fun and they learned a lot from the activities.

The students showed participation, cooperation, and understanding towards the many activities given.

They ended the two-day seminar with the statement "The Dominican beat is back on the beat" indicating their readiness for any upcoming journalism events.
