This event is a vital component of our advocacy, which is the empowerment of fisherfolks in the community of Sitio Marangkalan in Brgy. Basiao, Ivisan, Capiz.

Through this festival, we aim to showcase and celebrate the rich culture and traditions of our local fisherfolks and promote their economic growth and sustainability. We have prepared an array of foods that will surely captivate and entertain our guests and fellow Theresian Community.

We look forward to your presence and support as we strive to uplift the lives of our fisherfolks and positively impact our fisherfolk community.

𝙁𝙄𝙎𝙃𝙀𝙍𝙁𝙊𝙇𝙆 𝙀𝙈𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙋𝙍𝙊𝙂𝙍𝘼𝙈 2024 🐟

The Student Executive Council Tigbauan, in collaboration with BFAR 6, recently conducted a site inspection at Sitio Aliganot, Brgy. San Dionisio San Rafael, Iloilo.

The primary objective of the visit was to assess the feasibility of breeding and releasing Tilapia fingerlings in the area.

During the inspection, the BFAR team meticulously evaluated the environmental conditions and infrastructure of the site to ensure its suitability for the proposed program. By examining factors such as water quality, habitat suitability, and community engagement, we aimed to make an informed decision regarding the viability of the initiative.

The site visit provided valuable insights that will guide us in implementing the fisherfolk empowerment program effectively. With the support of BFAR 6 and the dedication of the Student Executive Council Tigbauan, we are optimistic about the positive impact this project can have on the local fishing community.

One of the advocacies of the Student Executive Council Tigbauan is to give fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing trees to the adopted barangay and Theresian community of the college.

Our first tree has been given to our library head, Mrs. Annie F. Callion.

We encourage everyone, especially the Theresian community, to donate fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing trees to us. Through our collective efforts, we can provide life-giving resources to our surroundings and support the well-being of our ecosystem. Join us in this initiative to make a lasting impact on the environment and enhance the quality of life for all.

The Student Executive Council Tigbauan endorsed an amount collected through selling of dried fish from our Fisherfolk Community in Sitio Marangkalan Brgy. Basiao Ivisan, Capiz.

The amount will be used for the gift-giving activities of the Council that will be given to the fortunate children of our adopted barangays, the IP Community in Leong Cabatuan, Brgy. Tan-Pael, Tigbauan Iloilo, and kindergarten pupils of Basiao Elementary School. Through this initiative, we aim to boost local economies and foster a sense of self-reliance among fishing communities.

Let's raise awareness and showcase the fishing industry's amazing products to the world as we honor their resiliency and perseverance. Together, we can build a more sustainable and inclusive future for everyone.
