In the afternoon, the Young Farmers’ Congress continued with the seminar and workshop “𝖥𝗋𝗈𝗆 𝖥𝖺𝗋𝗆 𝗍𝗈 𝖥𝗂𝗇𝖺𝗇𝖼𝖾: 𝖤𝗆𝗉𝗈𝗐𝖾𝗋𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝖸𝗈𝗎𝗇𝗀 𝖠𝗀𝗋𝗂𝗉𝗋𝖾𝗇𝖾𝗎𝗋𝗌 𝗍𝗁𝗋𝗈𝗎𝗀𝗁 𝖥𝗂𝗇𝖺𝗇𝖼𝗂𝖺𝗅 𝖫𝗂𝗍𝖾𝗋𝖺𝖼𝗒 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖬𝖺𝗄𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝖠𝗀𝗋𝗂-𝖡𝗎𝗌𝗂𝗇𝖾𝗌𝗌 𝖯𝗅𝖺𝗇𝗌”

AgriSO Vice President Cedric Villaruel introduced the speaker, Ms. Almira Reina Briones, who talked about agripreneurship—its key aspects, challenges, and the factors that affect financial knowledge and business success. She also shared the 6Ms of Agripreneurship: Mindset, Mentoring, Money, Market, Mastery, and Machineries, and encouraged the students to start their own agribusiness.

After the talk, students presented their business plans, showing creativity and innovation. Certificates and a token of appreciation were given to Ms. Briones. A Question with Prize activity led by Dean Dr. Marilyn A. Mayores added fun to the program.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀

In collaboration with Agriculture Student Organization (AgriSO) and the Local Youth Development Council, they brought together students from the College of Agriculture of MarSU–Torrijos and the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Science of MarSU–Gasan for the Young Farmer’s Congress: Seminar and Workshop held on October 16, 2025, at the Torrijos Stadium.

With the theme “𝘋𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘍𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘈𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯” the event aimed to strengthen youth participation in shaping a sustainable and food-secure future.

The program opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Marilyn A. Mayores, Dean of the College of Agriculture, followed by the Statement of Purpose delivered by Mr. Ceejay Peralta, AA VI and LYDO Designate. Mr. Harvey A. Dulay, Campus Director of MarSU–Torrijos, and Hon. Joey P. Peñaflor, Mayor of Torrijos, also shared inspiring messages highlighting the youth’s role in agriculture and community development.

During the morning session, Dr. Arnolfo M. Monleon discussed “Zero Hunger by 2030: Realistic Goals or Pipe Dreams and What Youths Can Do?”, while Dr. Alfredo M. Ofrecio III followed with his talk on “Growing Dreams, Harvesting Opportunities: An Agribusiness Seminar.”

The congress encouraged students to view agriculture and fisheries not only as livelihoods but as avenues for innovation and positive change. As Dr. Monleon reminded everyone, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴.”

‎October 15 | MarSU Torrijos-College of Agriculture participated in the 29th Philippine Statistics Quiz Provincial Elimination with the theme "Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All" in line with the 36th National Statistics Month held at Governor's Hall, Provincial Capitol, Boac, Marinduque.

CoAgri was represented by 𝖬𝗋. 𝖩𝖺𝗋𝖾𝖽 𝖲. 𝖲𝖺𝗅𝖺𝗓𝖺𝗋, 𝖬𝗋. 𝖠𝗋𝗈𝗇 𝖱. 𝖯𝗂𝗆𝖾𝗇𝗍𝖾𝗅, 𝖺𝗇𝖽 𝖬𝗌. 𝖩𝗂𝗋𝖺𝗁 𝖱. 𝖤𝗌𝖼𝗈𝖻𝖾𝗋 from the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program together with their coach, 𝖬𝗋. 𝖤𝗎𝗅𝗈𝗀𝗂𝗈 𝖱. 𝖬𝖾𝖽𝗂𝗇𝖺, and student-coach 𝖬𝗋. 𝖢𝖾𝖽𝗋𝗂𝖼 𝖱. 𝖵𝗂𝗅𝗅𝖺𝗋𝗎𝖾𝗅. ‎They were also joined by their ever-supportive Campus Director, 𝖠𝗌𝗌𝗈𝖼. 𝖯𝗋𝗈𝖿. 𝖧𝖺𝗋𝗏𝖾𝗒 𝖠. 𝖣𝗎𝗅𝖺𝗒 and 𝖣𝗋. 𝖣𝗈𝗋𝖾𝖾𝗇 𝖬𝖺𝗌𝖼𝖺𝗋𝖾𝗇̃𝖺𝗌.

This annual academic competition is open to all enrolled first-year students who are intellectually curious and statistically active. This year’s participants include various programs and colleges from across the province, such as:

Sa gitna ng mga unos at pagsubok, nananatili silang matatag, nagsisilbing haligi ng ating seguridad sa pagkain.

‎The College of Agriculture celebrated the Teacher’s Month with a day of activities dedicated to its faculty.

‎The celebration overflowed with joy as teachers enjoyed fun parlor games and were honored through putong, touching messages, and meaningful gifts from their students.

‎Assoc. Prof. Harvey Dulay, Campus Director, expressed his gratitude to the students, saying, “𝑾𝒂𝒍𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒎𝒊 𝒌𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒚𝒐.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲

Every year, as the month of October comes around, classrooms across the country pause from routine lessons to give honor where honor is due—our teachers. More than a celebration, Teachers’ Day is a reminder of the invaluable role educators play in shaping not just students, but the very future of society.

Teachers are often described as the "second parents" of their students, and rightfully so. Within the four walls of the classroom, they do more than teach lessons; they nurture character, instill discipline, and encourage dreams. From the simple patience of guiding a child through their first alphabet to the complex task of preparing young adults for life’s challenges, every moment becomes a seed of wisdom planted for tomorrow.

But behind every teacher is a story of sacrifice. Long hours of lesson planning, the constant balancing of personal and professional lives, and the unending patience required to guide learners are often unseen by many. Despite these challenges, teachers continue to show up each day with dedication, carrying the mission of molding future leaders, thinkers, and changemakers.

In celebrating Teachers’ Day, students and communities express their gratitude through tributes, programs, and heartfelt messages. Yet beyond flowers, tokens, and speeches, the greatest gift one can give a teacher is recognition—not just for a day, but in everyday life. It is remembering their impact long after graduation, carrying their lessons beyond the classroom, and living out the values they’ve instilled.

Teachers may not always witness the fruits of their labor, but every success story has a teacher at its roots. As the saying goes, “A good teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to light the way for others.”

This Teachers’ Day, may we remember that behind every lesson, every exam, and every piece of advice lies the heart of an educator devoted to shaping the future. Truly, the real superheroes don’t wear capes—they teach. 🌱
