Bohol proudly honors its great son, President Carlos Polestico Garcia, the 8th President of the Philippines. Every year, Bohol celebrates Carlos P. Garcia Day to remember his leadership and lasting legacy.

Known for his โ€œFilipino First Policy,โ€ President Garcia championed Filipino workers, products, and businesses over foreign interests, reminding the nation that โ€œFilipino First is not just a sloganโ€”it is a commitment to national dignity.โ€

Beyond politics, he was a gifted speaker, poet, and humble leader whose love for the country inspires Filipinos to stay proud, live simply, and serve others. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ’™

โ€œItโ€™s okay to take breaks. Itโ€™s okay to not be okay. What matters is that you keep trying to love yourself even when itโ€™s hard,โ€ Emman Atienza once said.

When the monsters inside us begin to crawl, do we really have to be okay? In a world where being the strongest is celebrated while being fragile is seen as a weakness, we often hide behind forced smiles and quiet sighs. We are taught to endure, to keep going even when the weight in our hearts is too heavy to carry. But pretending to be okay never heals the wound, it only gets buried waiting for the right moment to crawl out. Truly, invisible wounds take the longest to healโ€” how do we soothe the pain even our eyes can't see?

Mental health is not always about constant happiness, itโ€™s about understanding our own problems and the battles that happen inside us. Itโ€™s about recognizing that strength isnโ€™t the absence of weakness but the decision to keep moving forward even when we're scared, anxious, and uncertain. Sometimes, taking a pause, reflecting, and admitting โ€œIโ€™m not okay right nowโ€ is already an act of courage to oneself.

Emman Atienza reminded us of that courage and bravery. Through her honesty, she showed that itโ€™s possible to speak about pain without shame, that anyone can struggle even with a smile. Emmanโ€™s story is not just about loss; itโ€™s about awareness, love, and the quiet courage to be human. Let her voice remind us all to be gentler with ourselves and kinder to others because we never truly know the weight of the burden a person carries.

So when the monsters inside you begin to crawl again, don't fight them alone. Talk. Reach out. Rest. During those times, you must remember that help exists - it can be through a friend who listens, a stranger, or even yourself. Afterall, mental health isnโ€™t about being unshakenโ€”itโ€™s about learning to rise again and again. Be kind to your own mind.

Have you ever wondered what happens to animals when the sky goes dark in the middle of the day? During a solar eclipse, scientists noticed an unusual action on birds, they began to sing as if a new dawn had arrived. The temporary darkness and cool air confused them, making them believe night was falling. As the sunlight dissarrested, some birds behaved down and prepared to rest, just like they do at sunset. But when the light returned, they sang again, thinking that it's a start of another day.

The cause of this unusual behaivor in birds lies in their biological clocks, known
as circadian rhythms, in which they depend on light to control their behavior.
When the Sun disappears, these rhythms are disturbed, triggering their patterns as if it was their time for evening rest. Then, when daylight reappears only minutes later, the birds' brains confuses it as dawn and start their morning routine like singing. This confusion gives scientists a rare chance to study how animals rely on sunlight cues to survive and adapt.

Scientists believe that with these short moments of darkness it can really teach us more about the behaviors of animals, since eclipses also acts as a natural experiment in how creatures respond to sudden changes in their environment. The birds mistaken songs reminds us of how they tula are connected with nature.

Even with a few minutes of shadow it can reset the nature's clock, showing how pure and precise their instincts are. In the end, the eclipse not only darkens the sky but also revealed how light shapes the daily harmony of life.

Amid the fear and uncertainty brought by unexpected tragedies, people often cling to the hope offered by fortune tellers or so-called โ€œvisionaries.โ€

One of the most well-known figures in this field is Rudy Baldwin. Recently, her post on October 6, 2025, about her vision in Cebu gained mixed reactions onlineโ€”just days before the strong earthquake that struck on October 10, 2025.

Baldwin warned of damaged vacation spots and collapsing buildings, which were later linked to the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu on October 10, 2025. She also predicted earthquakes and ground cracks in Bulacan, connected to recent reports of minor tremors and sinkholes in the area. Meanwhile, her warning to Korina Sanchez about possible accidents was associated by followers with a vehicular incident that occurred around the same dates she mentioned. Lastly, her recurring vision of โ€œThe Big Oneโ€ remains tied to ongoing fears of a major earthquake along the West Valley Fault.

According to her supporters, Baldwin is seen as a blessingโ€”someone sent to deliver warnings and help people prepare for possible disasters. However, her critics argue that her public sharing of her โ€œvisionsโ€ does not bring comfort, but rather fear, anxiety, and unnecessary worry to those who read them.

In an age where information spreads quickly, it is important to be cautious and discerning about the news we encounter online. There is nothing wrong with issuing warnings or expressing beliefs, but if these cause confusion and panic, they should be examined carefully.

Nevertheless, it is equally important to remember that citizens have a great responsibility to think critically. We must use knowledge and logic rather than believing everything we read right away.

In the end, Rudy Baldwinโ€™s โ€œvisionsโ€ serve as a challenge to us Filipinosโ€”we are free to choose whether to believe or to doubt. But in this era dominated by social media, the real warning is this: be critical of what we believe, and always let logical thinking guide us so that the voice of truth may prevail.

A massive 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on the morning of Friday, October 10, 2025, shaking the city and surrounding provinces. Later in the evening, a 6.9-magnitude aftershock further rattled the region. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), seven people were killed while 11 others were injured during the twin quakes.

Just a week earlier, on September 30, 2025, Cebu was also hit by a 6.9 earthquake, with its epicenter recorded at the City of Bogo. Atleast 68 people were found dead while 500 others were wounded as homes, buildings, and centuries-old churches collapsed.

These back-to-back disasters left widespread damage. Buildings were destroyed, livelihoods were heavily affected and lives have been lost in the wake of these disasters. But beyond the physical damages, the earthquakes had also taken a toll on the emotional and mental well-being of the people affected. Many residents experienced constant fear and sleepless nights due to the after shocks and the lingering uncertainty about their safety.

Despite these challenges, Filipinos remain resilient as volunteers and local organizations work together to rebuild and provide support to those in need. According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), nearly PHP200 million worth of humanitarian aid has already been distributed to 280,000 families affected by the tremors in Davao Oriental and Cebu. This aid includes food packs, medical kits, emergency shelter materials, and other essentials to help the survivors recover. Government agencies remain on alert as they continue to monitor seismic activities while communities slowly move towards recovery.
