On the last day of the Summer Training Workshop, which took place on the 22nd day of July 2025, the Audio and Visual Room (AVR) was filled with both anticipation and a touch of nervousness as the publication held its election of a new set of editorial leaders. Votes were cast, not just with pens, but with hopes for stronger and more ethical journalism.

In the middle of the election, some members of the Publication, specifically the ones who were nominated, shared some heartfelt messages, but it was the outgoing Editor-in-Chief, Miss Chinky Rondina, who surprised the crowd. She said, "𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗘𝗜𝗖, 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁, 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲,” and then she added, "𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗜 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜’𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴—𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜’𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴." The elections concluded with Miss Rondina being the Editor-In-Chief for the second time around. By the end of the morning, a new team stood ready to take the reins, inspired and aware of the challenges ahead.

Moreover, the afternoon turned from reflection to action as the staff gathered to plan their calendar of activities and events for the coming academic year. The room buzzed with ideas, but the goal was clear: to keep evolving, stay relevant, and never lose sight of what truthful journalism stands for. The day concluded on a warm note with a recognition ceremony to honor the publication’s fourth-year members.

With this year’s theme being 𝑬𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒆, the workshop served as a mirror, asking young journalists to look inward.

𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐬: 𝐀 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦

Quenched learning is a lifestyle for the members of The Polytechnic Bulletin, as Day 2 of the workshop concluded with zeal and discovery—quenching their thirst for new knowledge.

The day began with an exploration of column writing led by the notable speaker 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐫. 𝐋. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐧, a proficient columnist who shared his insights through a presentation titled “𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬.” The session delved into the intricacies of writing responsible opinion pieces while steering clear of rant-like write-ups. After the lecture, enthusiastic and eager to learn PBabies crafted their own columns, applying the valuable principles imparted by Engr. Montebon.

Transitioning from writing to photography, the afternoon session shifted focus to the fundamentals of photojournalism with 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧, 𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭. Her lecture, “𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦,” covered everything from its history to its technical aspects. The presentation offered fresh, practical knowledge in the field. There was never a dull moment for the PBabies—as the session concluded, they explored their creativity in photojournalism, using the insights they gained from Ms. Tuburan to capture images that told soulful and compelling stories.

As the sun set on Day 2, another thirst for learning was momentarily quenched. The members of The Polytechnic Bulletin carried with them not only new information and crafted outputs, but also a renewed sense of camaraderie and a celebration of their showmanship.

July 20, 2025—The Polytechnic Bulletin has successfully concluded the first day of its seminar workshop and is honored to have 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐙𝐨𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐨 from 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬 (𝐂𝐃𝐍) as a guest speaker during their writing workshop with the theme, “𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞.”

Her striking words served as the driving force of the session, encapsulating the PB attendees’ interest as she tackled the foundation of journalism entitled, “How to Find and Write a Stronger Angle.” She highlighted the essentiality of prompting a strong start in an article, ensuring that the story reaches the target audience with clarity and intention. Alongside that is a lead that serves as the vehicle of the piece because a strong angle needs a strong lead to be effective.

As the session concluded, Ms. Piquero’s valuable tips and guidance in writing struck the minds of the campus journalists when she let them engage with her thought-provoking activities. In journalism writing, you are not just simply putting words together; you are painting a story that is relevant. In order to do that, you have to write with purpose, empathy, and the readers in mind.

On June 26, 2025, Cebu Technological University – Tuburan Campus proudly celebrated its long-awaited Graduation Ceremony. More than just a commemoration of academic excellence, the event marked a significant turning point—where each challenge faced and every hardship endured blossomed into victory.

For every graduate, the walk across the stage was more than ceremonial—it was symbolic. Each step carried stories of perseverance, sleepless nights, unwavering hope, and the dreams that kept them going. And now, having reached this milestone, they are reminded that with faith in their journey and passion in their hearts, no goal is ever out of reach.

The ceremony was graced by beaming parents, devoted faculty, and esteemed university officials, all bearing witness to this momentous occasion. Their heartfelt messages echoed a powerful truth: that success isn’t defined solely by medals or awards, but by courage, resilience, and the relentless will to press on—especially when the road gets tough.

“𝐍𝐨 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫, 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡” — 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐦 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.

On June 26, 2025, Senator Paolo Benigno "Bam" Aguirre Aquino IV, one of the most notable men in our country, gave an inspiring commencement speech at Cebu Technological University - Tuburan Campus.

In his heartfelt address, Senator Bam emphasized the power of believing in oneself amid uncertainties. He reminded the graduates that their journey does not end there. As new doors start to open in their lives, there will be a lot of opportunities waiting in line; they should never doubt their own capabilities and be easily shaken by fear. “No fear, Only faith,” he declared, urging the graduates to trust in their dreams, even when the path seems unclear.

He emphasized the importance of helping one another. As we work for the betterment of our society by striving to help our families, friends, and even the larger community. Working and helping one another will help us reach greater lengths in life.

As he quoted, "Ang Kabataan ay ang pag-asa ng bayan." Senator Bam still believes that the youth play a significant role in shaping the future of the nation. He has witnessed students and parents reaching out in hopes of fulfilling their dreams. He stated that everyone has an equal right to education, where every state college is free and accessible for every person who longs to learn and strive towards their dream. A future built on innovation, compassion, and integrity. His message ignited a sense of purpose in the graduates, as they sat with beaming faces and hopeful hearts, ready to step into a new chapter of their lives.

Indeed, the graduation ceremony at CTU - Tuburan Campus was not just a celebration of academic achievement but a moment of realization that as long as there is faith in God, in our family, friends, and even in ourselves, then there is no stopping in pursuing our dreams. As long as we continue to believe in what we have, nothing is impossible to achieve. Thus, these words will forever echo in the hearts of Class 2025 for years to come.

🗳️ Election Day is on June 4, 2025.

All students of CTU Tuburan are expected to vote online via Google Forms as part of their civic responsibility.

Attendance will be monitored, and voting statistics will be recorded per department, college, and section to ensure maximum participation. Let’s work together to fully exercise every Technologist's right to vote and strengthen our student democracy.

CTU Tuburan, May 30, 2025— The Drafting students of Cebu Technological University – Tuburan Campus successfully held their Culmination Program 2025 and Arts and Design Fair with the theme “Drafting the Future: From Lines to Legacy” on Friday, May 30, in front of the Old COT Building.

The event, which marked the end of the academic year, was a celebration of the students’ creative journey and technical accomplishments. The culmination featured an extensive exhibit of various visual artworks, including miniature house models, architectural plates, charcoal portraits, oil and acrylic paintings, abstract art, mini paintings, still life works, 3D illusion pieces, and detailed renderings of scenes around CTU and iconic sceneries around the province of Cebu.

Dr. John Paul Tamayo delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the significance of cultivating both creativity and skill in technical education. The event was spearheaded by Mr. Raymund B. Garrido and facilitated by The Creative Pillars, a team composed of drafting students and faculty collaborators.

The exhibit served as a platform for students to showcase their outputs developed throughout the year, highlighting their competence in both artistic expression and drafting techniques. It also symbolized their readiness to pursue further studies and professional work in the design and construction industries.

The culmination program concluded with appreciation from faculty, guests, and peers, recognizing the hard work and dedication that went into each piece on display.
