It feels scary at first because you think you’re the one losing something, but in reality, you’re losing someone who took you for granted, while they’re losing someone who cared deeply and was ready to give their all—but they let you slip away.

I learned this the hard way. It took years for me to understand: why should I regret losing people who wasted me? Why should I fear losing people who never feared losing me? You just got used to being the one left behind.

This time, learn your lesson: if they don’t want you, don’t chase them. And if they’re not doing anything to make you stay, let them go. It’s not easy, but it’s time to move on.
