“Truth and the soul”

Silence is often used as a shield. It can feel like safety—a way to keep pain, guilt, or vulnerability locked away where no one can see it. When we stay silent about a secret, we may believe we’re avoiding harm, preserving peace, or keeping control. In some cases, that silence can feel necessary. It creates a barrier between the truth and the outside world.

But silence also has a cost.

While it may protect the secret, it doesn’t protect us from what the secret does inside. It grows in the dark, whispering fears, sowing shame, and eroding connection. Over time, it becomes a weight we carry—a quiet burden that isolates us, even from ourselves.

Truth, on the other hand, is risky. It’s raw, unfiltered, and often uncomfortable. But it’s also a release.

When we choose truth—when we speak what was hidden, admit what we feared, or reveal what was buried—we open the door to healing. Truth doesn’t always bring instant peace. It can cause waves, stir pain, even break things. But what it does bring is clarity, authenticity, and the beginning of freedom.

The soul is not meant to live in hiding. It longs to be known, to be whole, and to be honest. And the moment truth is spoken, even in a whisper, the soul begins to breathe again.

In short, Silence protects the lies and secrets, but truth frees the soul.
