Ni hao, Kaohsiung Taiwan! 🇹🇼

This country is surprisingly amazing. This is my first time visiting Taiwan, and I went to the southernmost part of the country—Kaohsiung. This special municipality is what they call the opposite of Taipei: laid-back and calm.

Chongqing China is so surprising! Imagine riding an escalator for almost 10 minutes going to the deepest subway station in the world!? 🤯 This is Hongyancun Station—the deepest, and steepest station in the world!

This is Hongyadong in Chongqing, China! A glowing, 11-story complex clinging to the cliffs above the Jialing River.

You can already see its charm by day but at night, that’s when the magic really happens. Golden lights illuminate the traditional stilt‑house architecture, making it look like the bathhouse from Spirited Away( If you already watched this anime).

Inside is a complex of everything you’d want from Chongqing: spicy street food, teahouses, souvenir shops, bars with river views, and plenty of photo spots!

It opened in 2006 to celebrate the city’s riverside heritage, but it feels timeless because of these neon lights the installed.

From this complex, you’ll see the whole city glowing with lights, even the river and bridges your eyes can see! This is the most perfect spot of Chongqing at night!

Sichuan Province is the fifth largest province in China, tucked in the southwest and blessed with landscapes, rich in culture, and spicy food. Chengdu, is the capital there are direct flights from Manila if you want to visit this province?.

Why Sichuan is famous? Sichuan is best known as the land of pandas. In fact, about 80% of China’s giant pandas live here, thanks to its abundant bamboo forests that keep them well-fed and happy.

If you’re familiar with Sichuan peppercorns, this province is also a home for gastronomy like hotpot, mapo tofu, and kung pao chicken. This province is also rich in their heritage for Buddhism and Taoism. The world’s largest Buddha, called Leshan Giant Buddha, carved into a cliff is part of the UNESCO Heritage Sites.

China is full of surprises and I can’t help but wonder how they managed to build and develop so much even before opening up to the world. It’s the kind of place that leaves you stunned, with every experience teaching you something new. The people, their culture, the way they’ve shaped their cities and preserved their traditions are something else.

This is Chongqing China 🇨🇳

I didn’t know what to expect on my first trip to China, but Chongqing is a surprising city you never knew existed. 😱

This city is massive, not just in size, but in personality. They call it a Mountain City for a reason. Streets climb steep hills, monorails cut through buildings and escalators are endles

Their transportation and infrastructure here are the most modern I’ve seen yet. The metro runs like clockwork, the stations are clean, and the way they’ve built a city on cliffs and rivers is a marvel of engineering. If you’re an urban planner, civil engineer or an architect, dude! Go to chinqing and learn from them 😍

Chonqing is one of China’s biggest municipalities, home to over 30 million people. Built between mountains and rivers, making it uniquely beautiful (parang Baguio pero pro max version! 🤪. They are also known for its foggy weather, spicy food, and fascinating history as China’s wartime capital.

Famous for sights like Hongyadong (buildings decocrated with warm lights), Liziba Station (where the train passes through a building!) the Yangtze River Cruising and their world’s deeeeepest Subway!

Sumilag Falls, Calanasan, Apayao

Tucked just 10 to 15 minutes away from Poblacion Calanasan, Sumilag Falls is a towering three-tiered cascade that rises to a height of approximately 100 meters. Unlike many waterfalls in the Cordillera region that require long treks, Sumilag is just located right along the highway and is reachable any by vehicle, with no hike needed.

What makes Sumilag unique is how the water cascades through massive boulders embedded on the side of a mountain, almost as if it’s flowing through the mountain’s waist.

The first (main) tier is almost unaccessible or the hardest to access due to slippery rocks and steep, moss-covered boulders. However, the second and third tiers are much more visitor-friendly for a cold swim, especially on sunny days.

The water remains refreshingly cold all year round, making it a perfect spot for a quick dip or a quiet roadside trip.

Am invited in Calanasan Apayao for their Lapat Festival this year. It was my first time visiting this town last year hiking their famous Mount Sicapoo.
