What if Tuguegarao was not only linked to Metro Manila, but also to Cebu in the Visayas and Davao in Mindanao?

What if Tuguegarao was not only linked to Metro Manila, but also to Cebu in the Visayas and Davao in Mindanao?

Imagine Tuguegarao as a northern hub not just for Luzon, but for the entire Philippines. Direct and seamless links—whether through expressways, faster rail systems, or expanded airports—could turn Tuguegarao into a true gateway that balances the overconcentration in Manila.

It could mean that faster connections could bring more travelers to Cagayan Valley Region’s hidden gems such as beaches, caves, and heritage towns. At the same time, locals could access Cebu’s cultural centers or Davao’s natural wonders with less hassle.

Students, professionals, and entrepreneurs could flow more freely between the three regions, redistributing growth and creating new networks outside Metro Manila.

But it also raises questions like...

Would Tuguegarao be ready for the rapid urbanization that might follow?

How would this change the identity of Northern Luzon if it became just as connected as Manila, Cebu, or Davao?

Could this finally break the “Manila-centric” mindset of the Philippines?

Or will this happen in the future? What are your insights about this? Baka puwede ko to balikan after 5-years? Hahaha

This Tourism Month, I want to share my province with you through my lenses, showcasing the beauty of Cagayan, beneath the ocean and above the mountains, beyond just the feeling of fun and deeper than what tourism often means.

I’ve been promoting my province for years, but this time I finally had the motivation to compile a collection of my memories and pair them with Cagayan’s tourism theme song. These moments are close to my heart, and I hope they inspire you to discover and unearth more about Cagayan when you visit.

What I’m sharing is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s so much more to experience. Join me in this journey, and together we’ll find endless ways to enjoy Cagayan and discover even more reasons to love the Philippines.

September is World Tourism Month, and this celebration is close to my heart. Several years ago, I began advocating for tourism in my province, showcasing its beauty through content creation. Slowly, that journey grew beyond my hometown—I’ve been blessed with opportunities to share not only my province but also other provinces across the country. It’s been years since I first embraced this advocacy, and the fuel remains full and overflowing, as long as the purpose of this journey stays clear.

Traveling around the Philippines has taught me so much. It’s liberating to learn from different perspectives, to unlearn what I thought I already knew, and to witness real-life situations and systems in place for tourism. I’ve seen the best and the worst. I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t. I’ve also had the chance to travel abroad, and I can’t deny that we still have a lot to learn back home. While we proudly promote the Philippines, there are areas in our tourism systems that need recalibration, and I hope our government continues to work on them.

On the brighter side, the Philippines is already beautiful. What we need is to shape a tourism system that truly works for the community and for the tourists, not just for a few. Above all, I will continue to be an advocate for Philippine tourism, with the prayer that one day, our communities will fully benefit from the richness and beauty of this nation we call home.

Happy World Tourism Month, Kakabsat!

Finally, I had the chance to take a photo with two of my early inspirations in travel content creation.

One is a half-blood, and the other a naturalized Filipino citizen.

gave me a wider perspective of experiencing the Philippines through the lens of a camera, showing that travel isn’t just about destinations, but about building a real connection with the places you explore. He was one of the pioneers of vlogging the Philippines, and that authenticity inspired me early on.

Kulas , on the other hand, made me understand the deeper meaning of connecting with people while traveling. He showed me that beyond landscapes and attractions, it’s the sense of belongingness and the stories of the people that truly make travel memorable.

Though Filipino blood doesn’t fully run through their veins, their love for the Philippines runs deeper than many. That’s why I respect them both as two of the most respectable creators in the country.

They’ve been like matchsticks to my own advocacy igniting my passion to promote my province, my region, and now, slowly, the Philippines as a whole. Little did I expect that I’d be given opportunities to tell stories of my own. Though I haven’t been to every province yet, this passion project is clear: to offer a different perspective on traveling the Philippines, inspired by these two.

It’s humbling to finally meet you both. And I hope one day, I’ll have the chance to share the stage with you as we continue to push forward our shared advocacy for the Philippine tourism industry.
