💭 Notes from a Constant Learner #1 — So Much for a Simple Quotation Generator
💡 I made an automated Quotation Generator, and I can’t even read or write code.
Back when I was still in corporate, every time I had an idea or project, I’d always bug my IT friends or the Excel wizards in the office to help me build or fix things. So being able to do this on my own felt like a big thing.
I almost bought a template or hired someone to build it, but I decided to try doing it myself. I use AI every day for different tasks, and honestly, it can be frustrating. Sometimes it gets the simplest things wrong or doesn’t give the outcome you expected. But I realized it actually works better when you’re building or editing with codes, not just asking it to do things.
Now the sheet does everything automatically. It computes totals and VAT, formats prices neatly, generates a clean PDF quotation, and even locks the cells so staff can’t mess it up.
That hit me because I’ve always been that kind of person. I was never the kid who knew exactly what I wanted to be. People used to say I had no focus, that I was just doing this and that, wasting time. But looking back, maybe I was just a constant learner all along.
This made me realize how much this era of tech has leveled the field for people like me — the ones who don’t fit into one box, who just keep learning and figuring things out.
Funny how a small project can end up teaching you more than you expected.
Still learning, always curious. 🤎
