- In time for the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center's founding anniversary and Tuguegarao City's patronal fiesta, the museum is launching a special exhibit on August 15, that will evoke the superb craftsmanship, industriousness, and fiery spirit of the people Cagayan.

Watch the trailer of "𝙉𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙗: 𝘼𝙣 𝙀𝙭𝙝𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣", featuring bladed tools and weapons from the Ilokano smithing industry of Larion Bajo, Tuguegarao; the now rare crafting customs of the Itawit, Atta, and Agta peoples; and the long gone forging culture of the Ibanag.

| A Chinese Coast Guard ship recently collided with a Chinese Peoples Liberation Navy Warship west of the Panatag Shoal within Philippine territory.

The collision follows the two Chinese vessels both blocking a Philippine Coast Guard ship en route to give assistance to Filipino fishermen in the area.

Philippine authorities told the media that the Chinese ships were firing a water cannon at the Philippine Coast Guard ship before the Chinese ships collided.

A video by the PCG circulating online has prompted Filipino netizens cheering for their country's sovereignty over the disputed territory.

| It's going to be a long weekend for Tuguegarao City, Cagayan as Malacañang has declared Friday, August 15, a 'Special Non-Working Holiday' via Proclamation No.980 in light of city's Pavvurulun Afi Festival.

The adjustment follows Tuguegarao's City Government to request the Office of the President to declare August 15th as a Special Non-working Holiday for locals and tourists to enjoy the events further, and also since the original date of the actual festival on August 16th has fallen into a Saturday this year, as posted by the Tuguegarao City Information Office.

| A magnitude 4.4 earthquake has been logged in Santa Marcela, Apayao at 10:55AM this morning, August 11, according to Phivolcs.

The agency said intensity 2 has been felt around Claveria, Cagayan while intensity 1 has been felt at Gonzaga, Peñablanca in Cagayan and in Batac, Ilocos Norte.

The traditional race has been consistent among the activities of the Pavvurulun Afi Festival of Tuguegarao City, as it builds unity and camaraderie among local participants and viewers from the community.

| Tuguegarao City's iconic Pansit Batil Potun Festival has garnered close to P1.5 million in sales on Friday, August 8 at Bonifacio Street as part of the Pavvurulun Afi Festival 2025 celebration.

Returning Champion Mariane's Pansiteria has once again bagged the coveted 'Best Pansiteria' award this year.

Close to 1,300 Pansit Batil Potun plates have been sold by the returning Champion from San Gabriel Village with sales reaching P151,000.

Up on second place is Jomar’s Panciteria at Macapagal Avenue branch with 1,227 served, followed by Cataggaman Viejo's Julie’s Panciteria which sold 628 plates.

With the growing city comes a growing number of pansiterias joining the festival. Now at 48 licensed pansiterias joining this 2025, a staggering 12,166 plates of Pansit have been served on that day with a total of P1,459,920 in sales.
