“Sabi mo nagbabayad ka ng tax, yung coffee shop mo wala.”
– Mayor Maila Ting Que
SOMETIME LAST YEAR AND JUST YESTERDAY, PUMUNTA AKO SA CITY HALL PARA KUMUHA NG PERMIT FOR MY MOBILE COFFEE SHOP. PERO SABI NILA, KEEP PAYING NA LANG SA ARCABALA, WHICH WE’VE BEEN DOING EVER SINCE.
For context, Arcabala or Arkabala is a local term for fees or taxes paid by vendors, usually those in public markets or mobile sellers. So yes, it’s still tax that we pay to the city.
Last Saturday, October 25, 2025, may pinapunta pang city government worker sa MADD COFFEE GROUNDS just to check if we’re paying tax. I find it kinda weird.
That same day, may Car Show sa Tabacalera. MADD COFFEE already paid the fee two weeks before to get a spot. I was supposed to attend too since I have a big influence sa car community, pero two days before the event, biglang hindi na ako pwede. Nandun nga pala kayo and your crew 😅Kaya nagpa-Carmeet nalang ako sa MADD COFFEE GROUNDS 💀😂
I’m not trying to get rich from that food truck. I just want to help make the city alive especially sa gabi, give work, serve coffee, spread good vibes, and offer a safe, well-lit place for people to relax and reflect.
I hope the city government can help mobile businesses like mine get proper permits. I personally tried applying pero even your staff seemed unsure how to handle our kind of setup.
Stop twisting the intention behind my videos. I’m also serving the public using my platform to show what’s really happening and to inspire change. The only difference is you have the power to fix the problems and connect us to real solutions.
