PUP Unisan Holds Good Governance Seminar in Celebration of Kaya Natin Youth Unisan's 2nd Anniversary

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Unisan, Quezon Campus convened young leaders for a comprehensive Good Governance Seminar on November 15, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The full-day event marked the second anniversary celebration of Kaya Natin Youth Unisan, adopting the theme "Kabataang Nagkakaisa para sa Yugto ng Mabuting Pamamahala at Ugat ng Etikal na Pamumuno" (Youth United for an Era of Good Governance and the Foundation of Ethical Leadership).
The seminar's primary objective was to enhance the leadership capabilities of student leaders while deepening their comprehension of ethical and responsible governance principles.
This initiative reflected the university's commitment to developing future leaders equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of governance frameworks.
The program featured five distinguished speakers who addressed relevant and substantive topics throughout the day.
Mr. Marvin Leoveras initiated the discussion by establishing foundational concepts of good governance, providing student leaders with essential theoretical frameworks for understanding effective leadership structures.
Mx Phaul Andrew Jimenez explored the significance of youth leadership and the importance of ethical decision-making in contemporary governance contexts. This session emphasized how young leaders can navigate complex moral dilemmas while maintaining integrity in their roles.
Mx James Russel De Guzman underscored the vital contribution of student leaders to nation-building initiatives, emphasizing their potential impact on societal development. His presentation highlighted the interconnection between campus leadership and broader national progress.
Mx Jovertson Atienza delivered insights on participatory governance and the creation of inclusive platforms where youth perspectives are genuinely valued and integrated into decision-making processes. This discussion focused on practical mechanisms for ensuring meaningful youth engagement in governance structures.
The program concluded with an address by Hon. Isabella Sydney Bagting, who presented a compelling discourse on integrity and public service.
She reinforced the fundamental principle that ethical leadership constitutes the cornerstone of meaningful societal transformation, reminding participants of their responsibility to serve with honor and accountability.
The seminar successfully achieved its mission of empowering youth participants from various student organizations. Through energized discussions and engaged participation, the event fostered a renewed commitment among attendees to lead with integrity, purpose, and dedication to good governance principles.
