Mabilis masira ang pagkain kapag diretso sa ref ng mainit pa.
Minsan, after cooking, weโre in a hurry to clean up so we place leftover ulam sa container, tapos diretso ref agad kahit mainit pa.
Sounds harmless?
Actually, itโs one of the most common food storage mistakes.
๐ Hereโs Why Itโs a Problem:
Placing hot food directly into the fridge can:
1. Raise the overall temperature inside the ref, affecting other items, especially dairy and raw ingredients.
2. Create condensation, which can encourage bacterial growth both in the food and on the container
3. Cause uneven cooling, especially if the container is deep; kaya minsan, panis na yung gitna kahit malamig na sa labas.
โ
Ano ang dapat gawin?
โ๏ธ Let hot food cool down first around room temperature (30 mins to 1 hour) before refrigerating
โ๏ธ Use shallow containers para mas mabilis lumamig
โ๏ธ Keep the lid slightly open while cooling, then seal before putting in the ref
โ๏ธ Avoid stacking hot containers on top of each other
โ ๏ธ Reminder:
Donโt leave food out for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if mainit ang room); after that, bacteria starts to multiply fast!
