Classic Homemade Lasagna 🧀🍝
"Layers of rich meat sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey melted cheese—this lasagna is the ultimate comfort food!"
Ingredients 🛒:
✅ For the Meat Sauce:
1 lb ground beef 🍖
½ lb Italian sausage (optional) 🌭
1 small onion, chopped 🧅
3 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes 🍅
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste 🍅
1 tsp Italian seasoning 🌿
½ tsp salt & black pepper 🧂
1 tsp sugar (to balance acidity) 🍯
✅ For the Ricotta Mixture:
1 ½ cups ricotta cheese 🧀
1 egg 🥚
½ cup grated parmesan 🧀
1 tsp dried parsley 🌿
✅ For the Layers:
12 lasagna noodles, cooked 🍝
2 cups shredded mozzarella 🧀
Instructions 🍽️:
1️⃣ Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a pan, cook ground beef and sausage until browned. Drain excess fat, then add onions and garlic. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes.
2️⃣ Prepare the Ricotta Mixture: In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, parmesan, and parsley.
3️⃣ Assemble the Lasagna:
Spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a baking dish.
Add a layer of cooked lasagna noodles.
Spread ricotta mixture over noodles, then add some mozzarella.
Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
4️⃣ Bake: Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
5️⃣ Rest & Serve: Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before slicing.
