November 8 2025
Saturday of the Thirty-first Week in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 490

Reading I
Romans 16:3-9, 16, 22-27
Brothers and sisters:
Greet Prisca and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus,
who risked their necks for my life,
to whom not only I am grateful but also all the churches of the Gentiles;
greet also the Church at their house.
Greet my beloved Epaenetus,
who was the firstfruits in Asia for Christ.
Greet Mary, who has worked hard for you.
Greet Andronicus and Junia,
my relatives and my fellow prisoners;
they are prominent among the Apostles
and they were in Christ before me.
Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord.
Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ,
and my beloved Stachys.
Greet one another with a holy kiss.
All the churches of Christ greet you.

I, Tertius, the writer of this letter, greet you in the Lord.
Gaius, who is host to me and to the whole Church, greets you.
Erastus, the city treasurer,
and our brother Quartus greet you.

Now to him who can strengthen you,
according to my Gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ,
according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret for long ages
but now manifested through the prophetic writings and,
according to the command of the eternal God,
made known to all nations to bring about the obedience of faith,
to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ
be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 145:2-3, 4-5, 10-11
R. (1b) I will praise your name for ever, Lord.
Every day will I bless you,
and I will praise your name forever and ever.
Great is the LORD and highly to be praised;
his greatness is unsearchable.
R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord.
Generation after generation praises your works
and proclaims your might.
They speak of the splendor of your glorious majesty
and tell of your wondrous works.
R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord.
Let all your works give you thanks, O LORD,
and let your faithful ones bless you.
Let them discourse of the glory of your Kingdom
and speak of your might.
R. I will praise your name for ever, Lord.

Alleluia
2 Corinthians 8:9
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Jesus Christ became poor although he was rich,
so that by his poverty you might become rich.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel
Luke 16:9-15
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I tell you, make friends for yourselves with dishonest wealth,
so that when it fails, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
The person who is trustworthy in very small matters
is also trustworthy in great ones;
and the person who is dishonest in very small matters
is also dishonest in great ones.
If, therefore, you are not trustworthy with dishonest wealth,
who will trust you with true wealth?
If you are not trustworthy with what belongs to another,
who will give you what is yours?
No servant can serve two masters.
He will either hate one and love the other,
or be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and mammon.”

The Pharisees, who loved money,
heard all these things and sneered at him.
And he said to them,
“You justify yourselves in the sight of others,
but God knows your hearts;
for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God.”

Morning Prayer
Saturday of the 31st Week in Ordinary Time
Psalter: Saturday, Week III
November 8, 2025

Opening
Lord, + open my lips.
And my mouth will proclaim your praise.

Inv. Antiphon: Come, let us worship God who holds the world and its wonders in His creating hand.

(Note: The antiphon is repeated. In individual recitation, the antiphon may be said only at the beginning of the psalm; it need not be repeated after each strophe.)

Psalm 95
A call to praise God

- Come, let us sing to the Lord and shout with joy to the Rock who saves us.
Let us approach him with praise and thanksgiving and sing joyful songs to the Lord.

- The Lord is God, the mighty God, the great king over all the gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the highest mountains as well.
He made the sea; it belongs to him, the dry land, too, for it was formed by his hands.

- Come, then, let us bow down and worship, bending the knee before the Lord, our maker.
For he is our God and we are his people, the flock he shepherds.

- Today, listen to the voice of the Lord: Do not grow stubborn, as your fathers did
in the wilderness,
when at Meriba and Massah they challenged me and provoked me,
Although they had seen all of my works.

- Forty years I endured that generation. I said, They are a people whose hearts go astray and they do not know my ways.
So I swore in my anger, They shall not enter into my rest.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.
Inv. Antiphon: Come, let us worship God who holds the world and its wonders in His creating hand.

HYMN
GLORY AND PRAISE TO OUR GOD
Based on Psalms 65 & 66; Daniel L. Schutte

Refrain: Glory and praise to our God, who alone gives light to our days. Many are the blessings He bears to those who trust in His ways.

1. In His Wisdom He strengthens us, like gold thats tested in fire. Though the power of sin prevails, our God is there to save.

2. Evry moment of evry day our God is waiting to save, always ready to seek the lost, to answer those who pray.

3. God has watered our barren land and sent His merciful rain. Now the rivers of life run full for anyone to drink.

PSALMODY

Ant. 1 Lord, You are near to us, and all Your ways are true.

Psalm 119:145-152
A meditation on Gods law

I call with all my heart; Lord, hear me,
I will keep your commands.
I call upon you, save me
and I will do your will.

I rise before dawn and cry for help,
I hope in your word.
My eyes watch through the night
to ponder your promise.

In your love hear my voice, O Lord;
give me life by your decrees.
Those who harm me unjustly draw near:
they are far from your law.

But you, O Lord, are close:
your commands are truth.
Long have I known that your will
is established for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. Lord, You are near to us, and all Your ways are true.

Ant. 2 Wisdom of God, be with me, always at work in me.

Canticle: Wisdom 9:1-6, 9-11
Lord, give me wisdom

God of my fathers, Lord of mercy,
you who have made all things by your word
and in your wisdom have established man
to rule the creatures produced by you,
to govern the world in holiness and justice,
and to render judgment in integrity of heart:

Give me Wisdom, the attendant at your throne,
and reject me not from among your children;
for I am your servant, the son of your handmaid,
a man weak and short-lived
and lacking in comprehension of judgment and of laws.

Indeed, though one be perfect among the sons of men,
if Wisdom, who comes from you, be not with him,
he shall be held in no esteem.
Now with you is Wisdom, who knows your works
and was present when you made the world;
who understands what is pleasing in your eyes
and what is conformable with your commands.

Send her forth from your holy heavens
and from your glorious throne dispatch her
that she may be with me and work with me,
that I may know what is your pleasure.

For she knows and understands all things,
and will guide me discreetly in my affairs
and safeguard me by her glory.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. Wisdom of God, be with me, always at work in me.

Ant. 3 The Lord remains faithful to His promise for ever.

Psalm 117
Praise for Gods loving compassion

O praise the Lord, all you nations,
acclaim him all you peoples!

Strong is his love for us;
he is faithful forever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. The Lord remains faithful to His promise for ever.

READING
Philippians 2: 2-4; 14-16
Make my joy complete by your unanimity, possessing the one love, united in spirit and ideals. Never act out in rivalry or conceit; rather, let all parties think humbly of others as superior to themselves, each of you knowing each others interests rather than his own. In everything you do, act without grumbling or arguing; prove yourselves innocent and straightforward, children of God beyond reproach in the midst of a twisted and depraved generation among whom you shine like stars in the sky while holding fast to the word of life. As I look to the Day of Christ, you give me cause to boast that I did not run the race in vain or work to no purpose.

Sacred Silence …

RESPONSORY
I cry to You, O Lord, for You are my refuge.
I cry to You, O Lord, for You are my refuge.

You are all that I desire in the land of the living,
for You are my refuge.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
I cry to You, O Lord, for You are my refuge.

GOSPEL CANTICLE
Ant. Lord, shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death.

Canticle of Zechariah
(Luke 1:68-79)
The Messiah and his forerunner

Blessed + be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old
that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life.

You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
to give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.

In the tender compassion of our God
the dawn from on high shall break upon us,
to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,
and to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. Lord, shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death.

INTERCESSIONS
With confidence let us pray to the Father who willed that the Virgin Mary should surpass all creatures in heaven and earth:
Look upon the Mother of Your Son and hear our prayer.

We are grateful to You, Father of mercy, for You gave us Mary to be our mother and model, through her intercession cleanse our hearts.
Look upon the Mother of Your Son and hear our prayer.

You inspired Mary to be attentive to Your Word and faithful at Your service, through her intercession give us the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Look upon the Mother of Your Son and hear our prayer.

You strengthened Mary at the foot of the cross and filled her with joy at the resurrection of Your Son, through her intercession relieve our distress and strengthen our hope.
Look upon the Mother of Your Son and hear our prayer.

THE LORDS PRAYER
Let us make our prayers and praise complete by offering the Lords prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

CONCLUDING PRAYER
God our Father, fountain and source of our salvation, may we proclaim Your glory every day of our lives, that we may sing Your praises for ever in heaven. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. - Amen.

DISMISSAL
May the Lord + bless us, protect us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

Let us praise the Lord, - and give Him thanks.

Friday of the Thirty-first Week in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 489

Reading I
Romans 15:14-21
I myself am convinced about you, my brothers and sisters,
that you yourselves are full of goodness,
filled with all knowledge, and able to admonish one another.
But I have written to you rather boldly in some respects to remind you,
because of the grace given me by God
to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles
in performing the priestly service of the Gospel of God,
so that the offering up of the Gentiles may be acceptable,
sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
In Christ Jesus, then, I have reason to boast in what pertains to God.
For I will not dare to speak of anything
except what Christ has accomplished through me
to lead the Gentiles to obedience by word and deed,
by the power of signs and wonders,
by the power of the Spirit of God,
so that from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum
I have finished preaching the Gospel of Christ.
Thus I aspire to proclaim the Gospel
not where Christ has already been named,
so that I do not build on another’s foundation,
but as it is written:

Those who have never been told of him shall see,
and those who have never heard of him shall understand.

Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 98:1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4
R. (see 2b) The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power.
Sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done wondrous deeds;
His right hand has won victory for him,
his holy arm.
R. The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power.
The LORD has made his salvation known:
in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness
toward the house of Israel.
R. The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation by our God.
Sing joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;
break into song; sing praise.
R. The Lord has revealed to the nations his saving power.

Alleluia
1 John 2:5
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Whoever keeps the word of Christ,
the love of God is truly perfected in him.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel
Luke 16:1-8
Jesus said to his disciples, “A rich man had a steward
who was reported to him for squandering his property.
He summoned him and said,
‘What is this I hear about you?
Prepare a full account of your stewardship,
because you can no longer be my steward.’
The steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do,
now that my master is taking the position of steward away from me?
I am not strong enough to dig and I am ashamed to beg.
I know what I shall do so that,
when I am removed from the stewardship,
they may welcome me into their homes.’
He called in his master’s debtors one by one.
To the first he said, ‘How much do you owe my master?’
He replied, ‘One hundred measures of olive oil.’
He said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note.
Sit down and quickly write one for fifty.’
Then to another he said, ‘And you, how much do you owe?’
He replied, ‘One hundred measures of wheat.’
He said to him, ‘Here is your promissory note;
write one for eighty.’
And the master commended that dishonest steward for acting prudently.
For the children of this world
are more prudent in dealing with their own generation
than the children of light.”

Inv. Antiphon: Come, let us give thanks to the Lord for His great love Is without end.

HYMN
SING TO THE MOUNTAINS
Based on Psalm 118; Robert J. Dufford, SJ

Refrain: Sing to the mountains, sing to the sea. Raise Your voices, lift Your hearts. This is the day the Lord has made. Let all the earth rejoice.

1. I will give thanks to You my Lord. You have answered my plea. You have saved my soul from death. You are my strength and my song.

2. This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice. He has turned all death to life. Sing of the glory of God.

PSALMODY

Ant. 1 You alone, I have grieved by my sin; have pity on me, O Lord.

Psalm 51
O God, have mercy on me

Have mercy on me, God, in your kindness.
In your compassion blot out my offense.
O wash me more and more from my guilt
and cleanse me from my sin.

My offenses truly I know them;
my sin is always before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned;
what is evil in your sight I have done.

That you may be justified when you give sentence
and be without reproach when you judge.
O see, in guilt I was born,
a sinner was I conceived.

Indeed, you love truth in the heart;
then in the secret of my heart teach me wisdom.
O purify me, then I shall be clean;
O wash me, I shall be whiter than snow.

Make me hear rejoicing and gladness,
that the bones you have crushed may revive.
From my sins turn away your face
and blot out all my guilt.

A pure heart creates for me, O God,
put a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence,
nor deprive me of your holy spirit.

Give me again the joy of your help;
with a spirit of fervor sustain me,
that I may teach transgressors your ways
and sinners may return to you.

O rescue me, God, my helper,
and my tongue shall ring out your goodness.
O Lord, open my lips *
and my mouth shall declare your praise.

For in sacrifice you take no delight,
burnt offering from me you would refuse,
my sacrifice, a contrite spirit.
A humbled, contrite heart you will not spurn.

In your goodness, show favor to Zion:
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
Then you will be pleased with lawful sacrifice,
holocausts offered on your altar.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. You alone, I have grieved by my sin; have pity on me, O Lord.

Ant. 2 Truly we know our offenses, Lord, for we have sinned against You.

Canticle: Jeremiah 14:17-21
The lament of the people in war and famine

Let my eyes stream with tears
day and night, without rest,
over the great destruction which overwhelms
the virgin daughter of my people,
over her incurable wound.

If I walk out into the field,
look! those slain by the sword;
if I enter the city,
look! those consumed by hunger.
Even the prophet and the priest
forage in a land they know not.

Have you cast Judah off completely?
Is Zion loathsome to you?
Why have you struck us a blow?
that cannot be healed?

We wait for peace, to no avail;
for a time of healing, but terror comes instead.
We recognize, O Lord, our wickedness,
the guilt of our fathers;
that we have sinned against you.

For your names sake spurn us not,
disgrace not the throne of your glory;
remember your covenant with us, and break it not.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. Truly we know our offenses, Lord, for we have sinned against You.

Ant. 3 The Lord is God; we are His people the flock He shepherds.

Psalm 100
The joyful song of those entering Gods temple

Cry out with joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing for joy.

Know that he, the Lord, is God.
He made us, we belong to him,
we are his people, the sheep of his flock.

Go within his gates, giving thanks.
Enter his courts with songs of praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.

Indeed, how good is the Lord,
eternal his merciful love.
He is faithful from age to age.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. The Lord is God; we are His people; the flock He shepherds.

READING
2 Corinthians 12:7b-10
As to the extraordinary revelations, in order that I might not become conceited. I was given a thorn in the flesh, an angel of Satan to beat me and keep me from getting proud. Three times I begged the Lord that this might leave me. He said to me, My grace is enough for you, for in weakness power reaches perfection. And so, I willingly boast of my weakness, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore, I am content with weakness, with mistreatment, with distress, with persecutions and difficulties for the sake of Christ; for when I am powerless, it is then that I am strong.

Sacred Silence …

RESPONSORY
At daybreak, be merciful to me.
At daybreak, be merciful to me.

Make known to me the path that I must walk.
be merciful to me.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
At daybreak, be merciful to me.

Ant.: The Lord has come to His people and set them free.

INTERCESSIONS
Raising our eyes to Christ who was born and died and rose again for His people, let us cry out:
Save those You have redeemed by Your blood, Lord.

Blessed are You, Jesus, Redeemer of mankind, you did not hesitate to undergo Your passion and death to redeem us by Your precious blood.
Save those You have redeemed by Your blood, Lord.

You promised that You would provide living water, the fountain of eternal life,
pour forth Your Spirit upon all men and women.
Save those You have redeemed by Your blood, Lord.

You send disciples to preach the Gospel to all nations, help us to extend the victory of Your cross.
Save those You have redeemed by Your blood, Lord.

You have given the sick and the suffering a share in Your cross, give them patience and strength.
Save those You have redeemed by Your blood, Lord.

THE LORDS PRAYER
Let us again offer our praise to God and pray in the words of Christ:

DISMISSAL

Thursday of the Thirty-first Week in Ordinary Time
Lectionary: 488

Reading 1
Romans 14:7-12
Brothers and sisters:
None of us lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself.
For if we live, we live for the Lord,
and if we die, we die for the Lord;
so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.
For this is why Christ died and came to life,
that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
Why then do you judge your brother or sister?
Or you, why do you look down on your brother or sister?
For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God;
for it is written:

As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bend before me,
and every tongue shall give praise to God.

So then each of us shall give an account of himself to God.

Responsorial Psalm
Psalm 27:1bcde, 4, 13-14
R. ( 13) I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom should I fear?
The LORD is my life's refuge;
of whom should I be afraid?
R. I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
One thing I ask of the LORD;
this I seek:
To dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
That I may gaze on the loveliness of the LORD
and contemplate his temple.
R. I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.
I believe that I shall see the bounty of the LORD
in the land of the living.
Wait for the LORD with courage;
be stouthearted, and wait for the LORD.
R. I believe that I shall see the good things of the Lord in the land of the living.

Alleluia
Matthew 11:28
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest, says the Lord.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel
Luke 15:1-10
The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to Jesus,
but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying,
"This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."
So Jesus addressed this parable to them.
"What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them
would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert
and go after the lost one until he finds it?
And when he does find it,
he sets it on his shoulders with great joy
and, upon his arrival home,
he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them,
'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.'
I tell you, in just the same way
there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous people
who have no need of repentance.

"Or what woman having ten coins and losing one
would not light a lamp and sweep the house,
searching carefully until she finds it?
And when she does find it,
she calls together her friends and neighbors
and says to them,
'Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.'
In just the same way, I tell you,
there will be rejoicing among the angels of God
over one sinner who repents."

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Inv. Antiphon: Come, let us worship the Lord, for He is our God.

HYMN:

PSALMODY

Ant. 1 Glorious things are said of you, O city of God.

Psalm 87
Jerusalem is mother of us all

On the holy mountain is his city cherished by the Lord.
The Lord prefers the gates of Zion to all Jacobs dwellings.
Of you are told glorious things, O city of God!

Babylon and Egypt I will count among those who know me;
Philistia, Tyre, Ethiopia, these will be her children
and Zion shall be called Mother for all shall be her children.

It is he, the Lord Most High, who gives each his place.
In his register of peoples he writes: These are her children,
and while they dance they will sing: In you all find their home.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. Glorious things are said of you, O city of God.

Ant. 2 The Lord, the mighty conqueror, will come; he will bring with him the prize of victory.

Canticle: Isaiah 40:10-17
The Good Shepherd: God most high and most wise

Here comes with power the Lord God, who rules by his strong arm;
here is his reward with him, his recompense before him.

Like a shepherd he feeds his flock; in his arms he gathers the lambs,
carrying them in his bosom, and leading the ewes with care.

Who has cupped in his hand the waters of the sea,
and marked off the heavens with a span?
Who has held in a measure the dust of the earth,
weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?

Who has directed the spirit of the Lord, or has instructed him as his counselor?
Whom did he consult to gain knowledge? Who taught him the path of judgment,
or showed him the way of understanding?

Behold, the nations count as a drop of the bucket, as rust on the scales;
the coastlands weigh no more than powder.

Lebanon would not suffice for fuel, nor its animals be enough for holocausts.
Before him all the nations are as nought, as nothing and void he accounts them.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. The Lord, the mighty conqueror, will come; he will bring with him the prize of victory.

Ant. 3 Give praise to the Lord our God, bow down before his holy mountain.

Psalm 99
Holy is the Lord our God

The Lord is king; the peoples tremble.
He is throned on the cherubim; the earth quakes.
The Lord is great in Zion.

He is supreme over all the peoples.
Let them praise his name, so terrible and great.
He is holy, full of power.

You are a king who loves what is right;
you have established equity, justice and right;
you have established them in Jacob.

Exalt the Lord our God;
bow down before Zion, his footstool.
He the Lord is holy.

Among his priests were Aaron and Moses,
among those who invoked his name was Samuel.
They invoked the Lord and he answered.

To them he spoke in the pillar of cloud.
They did his will; they kept the law,
which he, the Lord, had given.

O Lord our God, you answered them.
For them you were a God who forgives;
yet you punished all their offenses.

Exalt the Lord our God;
bow down before his holy mountain
for the Lord our God is holy.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Ant. Give praise to the Lord our God, bow down before his holy mountain.

READING
1 Peter 4:10-11a
As generous distributors of Gods manifold grace, put your gifts at the service of one another, each in the measure he has received. The one who speaks is to deliver Gods message. The one who serves is to do it with the strength provided by God. Thus, in all of you God is to be glorified through Jesus Christ.

Sacred Silence ...

RESPONSORY
From the depths of my heart I cry to you; hear me, O Lord.
From the depths of my heart I cry to you; hear me, O Lord.

I will do what you desire;
hear me, O Lord.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
From the depths of my heart I cry to you; hear me, O Lord.

GOSPEL CANTICLE
Antiphon: Let us serve the Lord in holiness, and he will save us from our enemies.

Canticle of Zechariah
Luke 1:68-79
The Messiah and his forerunner

Blessed + be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.

You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
to give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.

Amen.

Antiphon: Let us serve the Lord in holiness, and he will save us from our enemies.

INTERCESSIONS
Let us joyfully cry out in thanks to God the Father whose love guides and nourishes his people:
- May you be glorified, Lord, for all ages.

Most merciful Father, we praise you for your love, for you wondrously created us and even more wondrously restored us to grace.
- May you be glorified, Lord, for all ages.

At the beginning of this day fill our hearts with zeal for serving you, so that our thoughts and actions may redound to your glory.
- May you be glorified, Lord, for all ages.

Purify our hearts of every evil desire, make us intent on doing your will.
- May you be glorified, Lord, for all ages.

Open our hearts to the needs of all men, fill us with brotherly love.
- May you be glorified, Lord, for all ages.

THE LORDS PRAYER
(Let us conclude our prayers with the Lords prayer:)

All-powerful and ever-living God, shine with the light of your radiance on a people who live in the shadow of death. Let the dawn from on high break upon us: your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever. Amen.

DISMISSAL
May the Lord bless us +, protect us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.

Let us praise the Lord, - And give Him thanks.
