𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄| "𝙆𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙜𝙖𝙮 𝙗𝙖 𝙢𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩, 𝙞𝙛 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙤𝙣 𝙥𝙖 𝙣𝙞 𝙣𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣-𝙤𝙨 𝙣𝙖!"

Behind every published article lies a story of sacrifice—and a passion that beats for truth.

They say the pen is mightier than the sword, but few understand the weight it bears. The burden of journalism rests on tired shoulders: stacks of unwritten pages, a camera that never stops clicking, a laptop glowing in the late hours, and a bag full of not just equipment but the heavy responsibility of storytelling. The reality is palpable: deadlines loom, budgets are nonexistent, and social media demands attention.

It often looks chaotic and exhausting, and, at times, it feels precisely that way. Yet, beneath this struggle resides more than just work; it’s about heart, purpose, and growth.

Being part of the campus press is not merely about writing articles. It's a masterclass in multitasking. You become the writer, photographer, editor, layout artist, researcher, and social media manager—all rolled into one.

You chase stories while juggling classes. You edit layouts until the dawn breaks. Too often, you do this with scarce resources and a budget that barely exists. There are days when the work feels insurmountable, and the pressure weighs heavily. It is tiring and challenging.

Ilang nawong ra man pud ilang i-post.

Sometimes, students often see campus journalists as ghosts—seen but misunderstood. We hear the whispers when we walk by: "Smile-smile and poise-poise pa mi, wala man diay gi-post among pictures." Or the impatient taps on a phone screen: "Kadugay ba mag-post og update, kadali ra ana buhaton."

To them, we are just a social media page that isn't fast enough, or a group of "feeling famous" students who get to sit in the front row for free. They see the final output, but they don't see the hours spent editing, the sleepless nights fact-checking, and the effort to make sure every piece of news is accurate and fair.

But here’s a beautiful truth: We don’t do it because it’s easy; we do it because it matters.

When faced with a "zero budget," we don’t back down; we innovate. We learn to maximize our resources. When deadlines press in, we cultivate discipline and hone our time management skills. When overwhelmed, we uncover strengths we never knew we had.

This struggle forges resilience within us. It teaches us that passion doesn't require fancy tools or hefty funding to make an impact. What truly matters is the fire to inform, the courage to speak out, and the heart to serve our school and fellow students.

To every writer, photographer, editor, and staff member feeling the weight of your responsibilities: Take a deep breath.

You are engaged in a noble pursuit. You are the voice of the student body, the keepers of history, and the watchdogs of truth. The long hours and restless nights are not in vain. They are the building blocks that will shape you into strong, capable, and compassionate individuals prepared to face the world.

So keep writing, keep capturing moments, and keep fighting the good fight. Your work matters, your voice matters, and you matter.

MORE THAN FABRIC: TEACHING INTERNS FORGED BY PASSION AND PURPOSE

VALENCIA CITY, BUKIDNON – Future educators gathered at the Atty. Amable S. Pagonzaga Gymnasium of Philippine College Foundation (PCF) on March 29, 2026, for the Teaching Internship Culmination 2026, celebrating a journey marked by struggle, growth, and unwavering determination. The event carried the theme “Empowered by Experience, Ready for the Future.”

“We often complained about the long hours for teaching the students, and the endless paperwork but look at us now. We made it. This uniform is more than just fabric; it is my armor. It stands as a testament to every sacrifice—meals skipped, tears shed through personal hardship, and sleepless nights questioning my path. My kids weren’t an obstacle to my dream—they were the reason for it.” - Intern, Shiela Mae

The culmination featured award presentations, an audio-visual showcase of internship highlights, and messages from PCF leaders. Dr. Adelda A. Cunanan, the Dean of the School of Education, and Dr. Charmaine P. Pagonzaga, RMT School President, emphasized the program’s role in shaping educators who can thrive amid challenges.

The guest speaker, Reynante H. Gantalao, Principal IV, noted that “Huwag kayong makontento sa kung ano lang ang alam ninyo—maging g**o kaayo nga malikhain at bumuo ng profession na may dangal.”

The event underscored a core truth: great teachers are not just trained—they are forged in the fire of real challenges, and their strength is measured not by how they avoid storms, but by how they use them to light the way for others.

Beyond the Board: The Stories Behind the 2025 Triumph

Cheers, quiet tears, and whispered prayers of gratitude filled the Atty. Amable S. Pagonzaga Gymnasium on February 8, 2025, as the institution gathered to honor its latest licensure examination passers from the School of Education and College of Criminal Justice Education. Anchored on the theme, “Celebrating Achievement Through Gratitude and Commitment,” the Recognition and Thanksgiving Ceremony gathered graduates, faculty members, and friends in a meaningful tribute to perseverance and success.

During the Pastor’s Time, Pastor Edwin Gulfan delivered a deeply personal message about the vast challenges that await beyond graduation. He spoke about the realities of seeking employment and entering the workforce, reminding the passers that life after the board examination presents its own tests of patience, character, and resilience. Quoting Jeremiah 29:11— “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” - he assured the passers that even in moments of doubt, God’s plans remain steady. His message resonated deeply: success is not measured only by immediate results but by faith sustained through uncertainty.

Adding a personal dimension to the ceremony, several 2025 passers shared testimonials about the obstacles they faced before taking the licensure examination. They spoke of self-doubt, financial constraints, academic pressure, and moments when giving up seemed easier than pushing forward. But they did not give up.

Through discipline, prayer, and the steadfast encouragement of family and friends, they endured. Their triumph was not born in comfort but forged through persistence. In their stories, the audience saw a reflection of countless unseen sacrifices the silent battles fought long before the day of recognition.

In his inspirational message, Dr. Jerry J. Caño addressed a pressing reality faced by many graduates today, the increasing number of unemployed professionals despite holding degrees and licenses. He encouraged the passers to see their achievement not as a guarantee of immediate comfort, but as a foundation for continuous growth. He challenged them to cultivate adaptability, competence, and strong moral character, emphasizing that the professional world demands not only knowledge but also integrity and dedication.

The Recognition and Thanksgiving Ceremony stood as a celebration of milestones achieved through faith and hard work. For the Education and Criminology passers of 2025, the event marked the beginning of a new chapter—one grounded in gratitude, strengthened by commitment, and guided by hope for the future. For the School of Education and College of Criminal Justice Education passers of 2025, the event marked more than a recognition. It marked a turning point. Beyond the board examination lies a broader mission—to serve, to lead, and to continue striving despite uncertainty.

Their triumph is not simply a result posted on a list. It is a testament to gratitude lived out, commitment upheld, and hope carried forward into the future.

PCF Strengthens Institutional Ties Through Stakeholders’ Consultative Meeting

The Stakeholders' Consultative Meeting was held on February 24, 2026, at the Atty. Amable S. Pag-ongzaga Gymnasium of Philippine College Foundation (PCF), carrying the theme, “Shaping Tomorrow's Professionals: Strengthening Competence through Collaboration, Education, and Partnership.”

Led by the School President Dr. Charmaine P. Pagonzaga, RMT, the event gathered faculty members, staff, parents, students, and distinguished guests to review, re-evaluate, and refine the school’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (VMGO), as well as its curriculum in all programs.

The program included a series of consultations conducted by each academic school—Education, Criminology, Business Administration, Office Administration, and Hospitality Management. These sessions were held in designated rooms across the campus to ensure focused and collaborative discussions. Each department assessed its current practices, identified areas for improvement, and proposed initiatives to further strengthen the institution’s academic foundation.

In the latter part of the program, faculty and staff representatives presented their departments’ requests, concerns, and proposed solutions. The discussions focused on practical and sustainable strategies to better prepare students as future professionals. Emphasis was placed on enhancing academic programs, upgrading facilities and resources, strengthening student support services, and promoting innovative teaching approaches aligned with industry demands.

The active participation of stakeholders reflected unity, accountability, and a shared vision for growth. Rather than dwelling on challenges, departments demonstrated a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. The exchange of ideas fostered collaboration and reinforced the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement.

Overall, the consultative meeting served as a meaningful platform for reflection, dialogue, and strategic planning. It reaffirmed PCF’s dedication to delivering holistic, effective, and quality education. Through collaboration and partnership, the institution remains steadfast in its mission to develop competent, ethical, and globally competitive professionals prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
