Salmon Belly Salipicao

INGREDIENTS:
Salmon Belly - 250g
Salt - pinch
Pepper - pinch
Liquid Seasoning - 1/4 cup
Worcestershire - 3 Tbsp
Marble Potatoes (optional) - 7pcs
Butter - 2 Tbsp

PROCEDURE:
1. Season the salmon belly with salt, pepper and liquid seasoning.
2. Pan fry the salmon belly, set aside.
3. Saute the potatoes until browned.
4. Saute garlic and onions.
5. Season with liquid seasoning, Worcestershire and pepper.
6. Add the salmon belly.
7. Finsih with butter.
8. Serve in a sizzling plate.

Miggy’s Spaghetti

INGREDIENTS:
Ground Pork - 400g
Salt - pinch
Pepper - pinch
Spaghetti Pasta - 500g
TJ hotdogs - 3 pcs
Garlic - 1 whole bulb
Red Onion - 1 pc
Del Monte Spaghetti sauce (Sweet style) - 2 packs

PROCEDURE:
1. Boil the pasta for 10 minutes.
2. Saute the ground pork. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Add garlic and onions.
4. Add the spaghetti sauce.
5. Simmer for 5 minutes.
6. Serve

Beef with Mushroom sauce

INGREDIENTS:
Beef (Thinly sliiced) - 4 pcs
Salt - pinch
Pepper - pinch
Garlic - 1 whole
Gripo stock - 30ml
Mushrooms - 1 can
Campbells Mushroom sauce - 1 can

PROCEDURE:
1. Season the beef with salt and pepper.
2. Pan fry the beef until well done. Set aside.
3. Thinly slice garlic, saute and set aside.
4. Thinly slice mushroom, saute and set aside.
5. same pan add gripo stock.
6. Add the Campbells mushroom sauce.
7. Serve the beef, mushrooms and garlic on top of the sauce.

Adobo

INGREDIENTS:
Pork (Kasim) - 250g
Chicken (Assorted Cuts) - 200g
Salt - pinch
Pepper - pinch
Garlic - 2 whole bulbs
Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
Liquid seasoning - 1/3 cup
Vinegar - 1/3 cup
Gripo stock - 50ml
Chili (optional) - kaw bahala

PROCEDURE:
1. Season pork and chicken with salt and pepper.
2. Add soy sauce and liquid seasoning.
3. Hot pan, saute the pork and chicken.
4. Add gripo stock. Simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Add vinegar and simmer until cooked.
6. Serve as you please (me sauce, tuyo, nagmamantika, etc.)

Finals na sa Friday

Naalala ko nung una kong ginawa ang 500 pesos noche buena challange ang tanging aim ko is ang magbigay idea sa mga kababayan natin budgeted ang kanilang kapaskuhan. Sa kaunting halaga ay makapag celebrate sila ng merong maayos, masustansya at mura na handa sa hapag kainan. Little did I know na ito pala ang magiging daan upang mapansin ako ng DSWD. At dahil dito nagkaroon ako ng oportunidad na maikot ang ilan sa mga lugar ng ating bansa. Isang oportunidad na hinding hindi ko makakalimutan.

Dahil dito nagkaroon ako ng new found love sa mga kapwa natin nangangailangan. Nagkaroon din ako ng urge na gamitin ang aking kaunting kaalaman upang magbigay ng kaunti tulong in my own way sa pang araw araw na kabuhayan ng ating mga kababayan.

Natutuwa ako na meron proyekto ang ating pamahalaan na kagaya nitong Walang Gutom Kusinero Cook-Off Challenge, dahil dito nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na maipakita ang passion at interest ng mga kapwa natin sa pagluluto. Also with this competition naipakita ang iba’t ibang klase ng dishes na meron ang bawa’t lugar sa ating bansa.

Masaya ako na naging parte ako nitong programa, napaka rami kong magagandang alaala at maraming natutunan na I’ll definitely cherish for the rest of my life. Maaring papalapit na tayo sa ending, pero ang ating kagustuhan na magbahagi ng kaalaman natin sa ating mga kapwa Pilipino ay naguumpisa pa lamang.

Tuna na me s**a

INGREDIENTS:
Tuna chunks (raw) - 500g
Salt - 3 Tbsp
Vinegar - 1/4 cup
Red onions - 2 pcs
Ginger - 30g
Cucumber - 1/2 pc
Red raddish - 7pcs
Leeks - 3 stalks
Chili (optional) - kaw bahala
Lemon - 3 pcs

PROCEDURE:
1. Season the tuna with salt. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
2. Add vinegar and let it soak for 10 minutes.
3. Prepare all the veggies.
4. Squeeze the tuna, realese the juice. Add on a bowl.
5. Add all the veggies.
6. Season with lemon.
7. Mix and serve.

Isdang me gatas

INGREDIENTS:
Bitilya or White Maya-Maya - 2 pcs
Salt - pinch
Pepper - pinch
Oil - 1/4 cup
Garlic - 1 whole
Evap - 1 can
Kinchay - 10g

PROCEDURE:
1. Season the fish with salt and pepper. Pan fry until golden brown. Set aside
2. Saute garlic until brown.
3. Add evaporated milk.
4. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
5. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
6. Add the kinchay.
7. Serve

DSWD Walang Gutom Program Kusinero Cook-Off Challenge
REGIONAL FINALS - REGION IX - ZAMBOANGA PENINSULA

Maraming salamat sa Zamboanga del Norte Governor Darel Dexter Tang Uy, Pinan, Municipal Mayor Hon. Rommel I. Gudmalin; Mayor Shaia Uy of Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Norte 1st District Rep. Roberto "Pinpin" Uy Jr. for welcoming us here at the province of Zamboanga del Norte. Napaka ganda ng inyong lugar. Maraming salamat din to the whole DSWD Field Office IX-Zamboanga Peninsula for organizing the event. Napaka babait nyo and ang gagaling ng mga staff! More power!

Maraming salamat din sa DSWD Office for Innovations of headed by Usec Edu Punay, DSWD Office for Innovations Assistant Secretary Atty. Baldr Bringas and Department of Social Welfare and Development - DSWD Secretary REX Gatchalian for making me part of the team.

Congratulations sa winner ng Regional Finals dito sa Region IX - Zamboanga Peninsula Kusinera Elenita Montano at assistant Jovelyn Montano ng Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay para sa kanilang inilutong Ginataang Kancornpribano. Sobrang innovative ng nilagay na guyabano bilang pampaasim ng dish at ang sarap at sobranf sariwa ng Tuna na inilagay sa dish.

Mabuhay kayo and see y’all sa National Finals ng DSWD Walang Gutom Cook-Off Challenge.

P.S: Had the opportunity rin pala to cook a quick and easy version of Chicken Fajitas. Layunin natin na mabahagi sa ating mga kababayan ang ating konting kaalaman sa pagluluto at pag utilize ng mga ingredients at lalong lalo na ang makapag bigay idea at kaalaman sa pag budget at pagluluto ng masustansya at masarap na hindi mabigat sa bulsa.
