On behalf of the Tatak SE Roadmap co-secretariat, we'd like to share an opportunity for changemakers in the Philippines to turn bold ideas into action!

The Bayan Family of Foundations is proud to support UNLEASH, a global non-profit that brings together young people to co-create solutions to the world’s biggest challenges, and the Leaders in Innovation Fellowships (LIF) Launchpad.

UNLEASH has partnered with LIF from the Royal Academy of Engineering to support innovators in the Philippines in their journey to create sustainable solutions for their communities and beyond.

The program, LIF Launchpad, consists of two stages designed to turn ideas into tangible solutions. The first step is a week-long Innovation Lab where 150 Filipinos will come together to collaborate, learn, and design practical solutions using design thinking. It all happens this September 19-25 in Manila.

But that’s just the beginning. Teams selected from the Innovation Lab will move on to a three-month Prototyping Program, where they'll get the support, resources, and the mentorship they need to build and test their ideas.

Filipinos from any background

Must be at least 18 years old — with no upper age limit

No team or project needed — apply as an individual

This opportunity is open to all innovators living in the Philippines. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds. Scholarships are provided.

NCDA ON THE GO....

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦: The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) was represented at the Psoriasis Summit 2024 by Atty. Walter Alava, Regional Programs Coordinator, who was invited as a panelist.

Organized by the Philippine Dermatological Society’s Photodermatology Subspecialty Group, the event was held at Seda Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

The summit, titled "Multisectoral Spaces and Solutions in Psoriasis Care," brought together experts to discuss holistic approaches to psoriasis care.

Atty. Alava’s participation highlighted NCDA's ongoing efforts to ensure that the needs of persons with disabilities are included in healthcare discussions, reflecting the council's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity in all aspects of health services for Filipinos.

Sa minimun na 500 monthly premium ng rehistradong 1,856,522 na may kapansanan (Hunyo 8, 2024 mula sa DOH na nakalagay sa websayt ng National Council on Disability Affairs), ang sumatutal na premium ay 11,139,132,000 o humigit-kumulang sa 12 Bilyon para sa taong 2024).

Kaya paanong walang pondo ang Philhealth at isisisi sa Kongreso? Bakit panay pa rin ang awas sa sweldo ng mga nagtatrabahog may kapansanan para sa ambag nila sa premium gayong malinaw sa RA 11228 na sagot ng National Govt ang ambag ng mga may kapansanan?

Balita ko may recommendation daw for hearing aid ang isang may profound hearing loss sa isang lungsod bandang katimugan pero nakakarinig naman kahit walang hearing aid. Alam nyo ba magkano ang dekalidad na hearing aid para sa kagaya kong may profound hearing loss? 70K to 110K lang naman, at isang piraso lang yun.

Balita ko rin na pang matinong hearing ang budget na hinihingi ng ilang opisina ng gobyerno pero kapag aprubao na ay galing sa Lazlas at Shopshup ang binibigay sa bingi.

Sana mali mga balita ko. Mabuti na lang talaga binago na ako ng Dios at may takot na sa Kanya. Pero pag naungkat ko talaga itong mga raket ganito, naku!

Celebrating a small contribution but a big win for hard of hearing Filipinos in enhancing the definition of hard of hearing in the deliberation of the Technical Working Group of the Supreme Court PH on the Rules on Filipino Sign Language Interpreting in the Judiciary.

Hats off to Ms. Carolyn B. Dagani, immediate past president of Philippine Federation of the Deaf for the spirit of inclusion and Ms. Mj Leoveras, immediate past president of Hard of Hearing Group Philippines for the linkup. We truly can accomplish more if we find and focus on our common ground instead of defining our differences.
