Thunderstorm Advisory No. 25
Issued at 08:49 PM 02 October 2025

Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over (Villaba, Tabango, SanIsidro, Calubian, Leyte, Kananga, OrmocCity and Merida) within the next 1 to 2 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Isabel, Palompon and MatagOb) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

VILLABA HABAL-HABAL DRIVERS ATTENDED ROAD SAFETY AND TRAFFIC RULES & REGULATIONS AND DEFENSIVE DRIVING SEMINAR

Habal-habal Drivers of Villaba, Leyte attended the Road Safety & Traffic Rules & Regulation and Defensive Driving Seminar on October 2, 2025 at Villaba Municipal Police Station, Villaba, Leyte.

This seminar is conducted to capacitate these drivers on Road Safety and Defensive Driving, as the traffic and vehicular accidents in Villaba, Leyte is alarming.

Road Safety is Shared Responsibility.

Nahitabong landslide sa Barangay Abijao, Villaba, Leyte human sa linog kagabii.

Tungod sa dagkong mga bato nga nahugpa ug naghatak padulong sa kalsada, ang maong dalan dili pa maagian hangtod karon.

Padayon ang pagpaningkamot sa lokal nga panggamhanan ug mga otoridad sa pagtangtang sa debris ug pagsiguro sa kaluwasan sa mga molabay.

Gihangyo ang publiko nga molikay sa maong dapit ug gamiton ang alternatibong dalan samtang wala pa kini malimpyohan.

MINOR SEA-LEVEL DISTURBANCE
Strong currents and rapid changes of seawater level are expected.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

The concerned public is advised to be on alert for unusual waves. People are advised to STAY AWAY FROM THE BEACH AND NOT TO GO TO THE COAST of the following provinces until the cancellation of this advisory:

Leyte
Cebu
Biliran

People whose houses are located very near the shoreline of these provinces are advised to MOVE FARTHER INLAND.

Owners of boats in harbors, estuaries or shallow coastal water of the above-mentioned provinces should secure their boats and move away from the waterfront. Boats already at sea during this period should stay offshore in deep waters until further advised.
