Waiting for God to help us is not easy.

4 benefits from waiting we learned from David:

1. God lifted him out of his despair. 2. God set his feet on solid ground.
3. God steadied him as he walked
4. God put a new song of praise in his mouth.

Often, blessings cannot be received unless we go through the trial of waiting.

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out.

Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here.

So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see.

Don't participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.

Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don't let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.

Letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.

When we let the Spirit control the way we think, He will help us bring everything into balance, giving us life and peace.

This involves acknowledging Him in every situation and decisions in life, (Proverbs 3:5-6) rather than assuming we can figure it out on our own.

Everything around us is always evolving.

The news.
The trends.
Even our own feelings.

But right in the middle of that shifting landscape, Scriptures offers us an anchor.

Jesus never changes.

The Jesus who showed grace in Galilee, who died, who rose, and who loved believers before us, is exactly the same today and into all our tomorrows.
