Ini patanid sa satuyang mga tugang na paratraysikel na kamo pinagbawalan na mag-agi sa national roads bako dahil kamo yadaogdaog kundi tanganing malikayan na kamo maronot ning mga mas dakulang sasakyan. The past few days have been a win for nature as one clutch of Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) eggs was succesfully released into the waters from Kasingsing Beach in Brgy. Talisoy, to Sitio Taelan, June 25 to 27. From a total of 84 eggs taking over 50-52 days to incubate, 62 were alive and well, while there were 15 mortalities and 8 stale eggs.

During the 193rd celebration of the Bato town fiesta in honor of its patron, Saint John the Baptist, Virac Mayor Samuel Laynes shared the people of Virac’s unity with Batonhons in their common aspiration for progress and development. Also joining him at the Official Ball and Balikbayan Night at the Bato River Park as guests of Bato Mayor Juan Rodulfo and his brother, Bureau of Immigration lawyer Pio Rodulfo III were Provincial Board Members Joselito Alberto, Robert Dean Vergara and Boy Balidoy.

Mayor Samuel Laynes, along with Governor Joseph Cua and Vice Governor Peter Cua and other officials, pledged their commitment during the Simultaneous Regional and Provincial Launching of Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project was held at Brgy. JMA Poniton, a pilot barangay for Catanduanes.

Through this program, The Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Provincial Agriculture and Services Office are working in tandem to be able to establish food security through urban agriculture and community engagement.

Fully named Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay | Kadiwa Ay Yaman | Plants for Bountiful Barangays Movement (HAPAG KAY PBBM), the program is the result of merging two government initiatives on urban agriculture: the DILG's HAPAG sa Barangay Project and the DA's Green Revolution 2.0: Plants for Bountiful Barangays Movement.

Mayor Samuel Laynes expressed great satisfaction to see how far the initiative has progressed since he promoted Gulayan sa Paaralan back when he was Local Chief Executive of Virac. He also echoed President Marcos's goal of achieving a prosperous and secure Philippines by 2040.

"May this morning's simultaneous regional and provincial launching of HAPAG sa Barangay help us attain this ultimalte goal and lead us to a food-secured and healthy country by the year 2040," Mayor Laynes declared in his speech at the event.

Mayor Samuel Laynes always finds ways to connect with senior citizens of Virac, this time administering the oath of office to new officers of the Virac Municipal Federation of Senior Citizen Association (VMFSCA) during their induction ceremony together with Governor Cua represented by PBM Raffy Zuñiga, Vice Governor Peter Cua, and Office of Senior Citizen Affairs Chairman Renato Arcilla held at ABC Hall, June 22.
