There are moments in life when a person becomes more than who they once were, and somehow, it happens as quietly as a pin placed above the heart.
On May 14, 2026, the ๐ช๐ ๐ฆ๐จ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ก๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด held its ๐ฐ๐ต๐๐ต ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ at Astoria Regency, Scout Limbaga, Panonanca, under the theme, โ๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ท๐ข๐ต๐ฆ, ๐๐ฅ๐ท๐ฐ๐ค๐ข๐ต๐ฆ, ๐๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐ด๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฎ: ๐๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ด๐ฆ๐ดโ ๐๐ญ๐ถ๐ฆ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ข ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ญ๐ฅ,โ marking the moment ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐๐๐๐ finally stepped into the weight and meaning of the profession they chose to serve.
The ceremony began with a processional as the candidates, accompanied by their parents and guardians, entered the hall carrying with them years of sacrifice and perseverance. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐. ๐ฌ๐๐๐ผ๐ฝ, ๐ ๐๐ก, ๐ ๐ก, ๐ฅ๐ก, formally welcomed everyone into the ceremony, while College Dean ๐๐ฟ. ๐ฅ๐๐ฏ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ต ๐๐ผ-๐๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ presented the candidates for pinning to University President ๐๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฎ. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ฎ ๐. ๐ข๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ, signifying their readiness for clinical practice. Alongside them stood Vice President for Academic Affairs ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ ๐. ๐๐น๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐, witnessing a generation preparing to enter a world that demands both competence and compassion in equal measure.
As each pin was placed above the heart, it became clear that the symbol was never merely metal. It represented sleepless nights softened by determination, fears endured silently, compassion practiced through exhaustion, and courage built slowly within hospital corridors and classrooms where pressure and purpose learned how to coexist.
The recitation of the Florence Nightingale Pledge, led by Clinical Coordinator ๐๐๐๐ผ. ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ณ. ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ ๐. ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฎ๐น, carried a deep sense of purpose as the candidates spoke each line together, embracing not only the pride of the moment but also the responsibility of dedicating themselves to compassionate service, ethical practice, and the welfare of those entrusted to their care.
The ceremony was further graced by the presence of Guest Speaker ๐๐ผ๐น. ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐พ๐๐ฒ๐น๐๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐๐-๐๐น๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ, ๐ฅ๐ก, ๐ก๐ (๐๐ฆ๐), whose message carried reminders of humility, purpose, and service in an ever-changing world. She encouraged the future nurses to carry their beginnings with them wherever life may lead. University President ๐๐ฟ. ๐ข๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ also expressed her trust and confidence in the batch as they prepare themselves for the licensure examinations and the responsibilities waiting beyond the university.
In his response message, Batch President ๐ ๐ถ๐ธ๐ฒ๐น ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น ๐ ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ท๐ผ-๐ ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น reflected on the journey that shaped Batch Corpus Colossus framed around the ceremonyโs theme of innovation, advocacy, and transformation. He also shared the meaning behind the batch name, describing it as a symbol of the resilience, strength, and unity that bound the batch together through years of challenges and growth. He further expressed his gratitude to the individuals who became part of their story, especially the mentors, families, and peers who helped shape the path that led them to this defining moment.
The celebration also recognized students who exemplified excellence beyond academics through the Presentation of Academic and Non-Academic Awards led by Dean Ho-Alavar together with college officials, honoring individuals whose leadership, service, and perseverance left lasting marks within the college community.
The ceremony slowly unfolded into moments that felt far too heavy for ordinary words. Through the singing of โSaranggolaโ by Ben & Ben led by ๐ ๐. ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ, the hall became filled with quiet gratitude for every struggle and triumph the batch carried together. Soon after, students offered roses to their parents during their heartfelt rendition of โSlipping Through My Fingersโ by ABBA, allowing an almost painful tenderness to settle over the venue.
And as the ceremony drew to a close, ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฆ. ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป๐ผ, ๐ ๐๐ก, ๐ฅ๐ก, delivered the closing remarks, offering heartfelt appreciation to everyone who became part of the occasion. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the WMSU Hymn, filling the hall with quiet pride and gratitude for the institution that shaped the batch through the years.
Let these photographs stand as evidence. In a hall overflowing with pride, gratitude, and dreams too large to remain hidden, a generation stood at the shoreline between everything they had survived and everything they were now being called to become. They do not walk forward empty-handed. They carry colossal dreams in remarkably steady hands.
