Digital Publishing Seminar Workshop

In an effort to bridge technology with publishing needs, a seminar workshop on desktop and digital publishing is held recently today at 8:30 am in Room 103, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS), Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU). The event, organized by Prof. Pabby, and led by Prof. Jhomarie, Mrs. Gay Dela Cruz, the BsDevCom program chair, alongside CAHSS Dean Mrs. Jocelyn Remoto. This aims to empower students with the skills to seamlessly integrate technology into digital publishing.

The College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) conducts writehop seminar together with the resource speaker Ms. Belen Sheila Covarrubias, it was actively participated by selected CAHSS students, on September 21, 2023.

The program formally started at 8:30 in the morning, with a prayer song, singing of the National Anthem and Zamboanga Hermosa with the theme: "The success of a writer is another one's journey, raising the mighty pen of a writer". The aim of this seminar is to enhance the writing skills of CAHSS students, provide knowledge on writing effectively.

The Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU) Medical Team, in partnership with the Office of Student Affairs and Services, the National Training Service Office (NSTP), and the Civic Welfare Training Service Office (CWS), conducted a flu vaccination drive. The event was held at the Medical-Dental Service Building on October 27, 2023.

The drive was a significant success, administering a total of 250 flu vaccine shots. The beneficiaries of this initiative included the university’s identified students, officials, and staff. Moreover, the Office of Student Affairs and Services, headed by Professor Collin Ceneciro; the National Training Service Program Office (NSTP), led by Catherine Aljas; and the Civic Welfare Training Service Office (CWS), led by Janet Pangilinan, have officially launched the Sustenance Operation Program Assistance for Students for student flu vaccinations. This proactive measure not only signifies ZPPSU’s commitment to the health and well-being of its community but also highlights the importance of preventive healthcare measures amidst the ongoing global health crisis.

In a recent event held on September 26, 2023, the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University's College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (ZPPSU-CAHSS) celebrated Science Math (SCIMATH) month with the theme "Global Science for Global Wellbeing." Led by Prof. Jocelyn Remoto, the dean of the CAHSS Department, the program commenced with a keynote address by Commander Marco Antonio P. Gines of the Coast Guard District, Southern Mindanao.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Collin C. Cenerio, the vice president of affairs, and Dr. Bonnie Andabon, the vice president of extension and research. The participants in this SCIMATH event represented various academic departments, including Senior High School (SHS), College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS), College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Information and Computer Science (CICS), College of Engineering and Technology (CET), School of Business Administration (SBA), and College of Marine Engineering (CME). This gathering emphasized the importance of mathematics and science in promoting global wellbeing."
