"Isang Responsableng Ama"
Nakita ko si tatay sa labas ng McDo San Jose Gusu sa Zamboanga City. Napansin kong hirap siyang maglakad at paika-ika.

Bawat tao na papasok at lalabas ng McDo ay nilalapitan at inaalok niya bit-bit ang mga bungkus na tanglad.

Napakapainit nang mga oras na 'yon pero hindi hadlang para ky tatay na magbabad sa init at magbakasakaling bibili ang bawat tao na nilalapitan niya.

Habang nakatingin ako ky tatay, ramdam ko na hirap na hirap siya sa mga oras na 'yon.
Napaisip at napatanong ako sa sarili kung bakit kailangan pa niyang maglako sa init ng araw sa kabila ng kanyang kalagayan.

Nung nilapitan at kinausap ko si tatay, do'n ko palang nalaman na na-stroke pala siya kaya hirap maglakad at hindi makapagsalita ni-isang salita. Nalaman ko rin na nakatira siya sa malayong Barangay ng Labuan at may dalawang anak na nag-aaral. Kaya siguro gano'n na lamang ang kanyang pagpursigi na makabenta sa kabila ng kanyang kalagayan.

Kung kayo po ay mapadaan sa McDo o sa Jollibee San Jose Gusu, sana po ay bilhan n'yo si tatay ng kanyang mga paninda. Minsan ay mais ang kanyang binibenta. Napakalaking tulong na po para sa kanya yo'n.

Ang nakakabilib po kay tatay ay di po siya nanglilimos kundi ay marangal na naghahanap buhay.

Sa mga gusto pong tumulong, maaari siyang makita sa Jollibee/McDo San Jose Gusu.

Pupunta po ako sa bahay ni tatay sa susunod na linggo para mag-abot ng kaunting tulong para sa hanap-buhay ni tatay.

Jeffrey Sereño, is the owner and founder of Cafelayan Lettuce Chips and
Cafelayan Hydroponic Farm in Tulungatung, Zamboanga City.

Driven by his passion in hydroponics and sustainable agriculture, Jeffrey ventured into lettuce production, aiming to establish a farm that prioritized sustainability and nationwide business reach.

In the first three months, Cafelayan Lettuce Chips gained traction, with over 2,000 packs sold through organic promotion, social media advertising, and support from various private and public organizations.

Today, Jeffrey not only leads a
successful business but also advocates for sustainable farming practices and food self-sufficiency.As a core volunteer trainer for Kids Who Farm, a non-profit organization empowering community to grow their own food, Jeffrey is committed to spreading awareness about urban gardening and ensuring everyone has the knowledge to feed themselves sustainably.

Through Cafelayan Lettuce Chips and his advocacy work, Jeffrey is making a
meaningful impact on both local agriculture and community empowerment, embodying his belief that everyone should have access to healthy, homegrown food.

Kids Who Farm, headed by its co-founder, Muneer Arquion Hinay, has been helping communities, not only grow their own food, but also become agriprenuers or be better agriprenuers through partnering with public and/or private institutions to deliver/conduct trainings/seminars on financial literacy and the like.
