Zamboanga Chong Hua High School (ZCHHS) continues to raise the bar in academic excellence as 47 of its students earned recognition in the prestigious 2025 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), held onsite last August 9, 2025.
Organized by the Australian Maths Trust, the AMC is one of the worldโs most challenging and respected math competitions, designed to assess studentsโ mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students are ranked by percentile nationally and globally, making awards a reflection of true competitive performance.
This year, numerous ZCHHS students achieved an outstanding medal count:
With High Distinction, which places them in the top 3% of their year level, were Cyris Chad Manarang (Grade 4) and Byron Alden Tam (Grade 6). Their results reflect exceptional skill and a strong command of advanced problem-solving under pressure.
Scoring within the top 20%, the Distinction Award was given to Cyrus Carl Manarang (Grade 4), Jerome Rance Ejedio (Grade 6), Sabrina Louis Cheong (Grade 8 ), and Vincent Benito Chan (Grade 9), marking their outstanding performance among thousands of global participants.
The Credit Awards, placing participants within the top 55% of primary students or top 60% of secondary students were Kristan Brussett and Ulfbricht Uriel Patagoc (Grade 3), Craig Xander Ang, David Gabriel Reaport, and Saavedra Jace Cassian (Grade 6), Dylan Mattews Lim and Liam Khenson Chiong (Grade 7), Areez Nur Ijin (Grade ๐, Gabriel Royce Lim and Moira Isabella Salire (Grade 10), and Aaron Justin Perez (Grade 11).
The Proficiency Award, granted to students who demonstrated competence in mathematical problem-solving, was earned by 25 students were Ahmeed Alfahris Untoy and Maximus Cesar Turano (Grade 3); Azieya Jajurie, Jaazaniah Rachel Ejedio, Joaquin Wilco Hung, and Mathieu Andrei Muรฑoz (Grade 4); Martoni Yu and Oakley Jacob Sebastian (Grade 5); Abraham Heuclid Rence, Jana Fairuz Tinguang, Jheanie Jamil Tinguang, and Sean Asher Miรฑao (Grade 6); Austin Fredrik Wee, Heshaun Rence Abraham, Layna Bree Hung, and Sry Aubree Teo (Grade 7); Bevilen Bibi (Grade 8); Angelica Shi, Ethan Chiong, Jedrick Dilton Lim, and Nikkei Bryne Wee (Grade 9); Anykka Tan, Lance Gabriel Madrazo, and Skyler Sy (Grade 10); and Zyrene Saipuddin (Grade 11).
Lastly, Participation Certificates were awarded to Harry Shi (Grade 3), Jerline Alyna Lim (Grade ๐, Jodi Brianna Go (Grade 9), Adelphos Kenzo Lee (Grade 10), and Jianna Brielle Go (Grade 11), recognizing their completion of the full contest, for persevering despite the competitionโs difficulty.
ZCHHS commends every awardee for their discipline, focus, and commitment. Their performance reflects not only individual brilliance but also the strength of the schoolโs math education and mentorship. These incredible mathletes have represented their beloved alma-mater and the Philippines with utmost excellence. Keep striving, keep solving, and keep inspiring.
