One day, in the midst of a very busy week of preparing lumber for the construction of the school building, someone approached me and said:
“Sir, the sick people here really need to go down to the hospital for admission and check-up. They have been having fever almost every week. What is our plan? Where can we get the money to help them?”
I replied, “Let us go down together. God will provide.”
As it is written, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” 📖Philippians 4:19
Truly, the Lord did provide. Coming down from the mountain, after about two hours of travel, we suddenly realized that the motorcycle tire had gone flat. It managed to run only a short distance before stopping completely. There were no motorcycle shops open since it was Sabbath.
To make the story short, we pushed the motorcycle for more than 15 kilometers along a very difficult road, especially uphill sections, and it was already nightfall. Along the way, we prayed earnestly that we might find a place to stay. By God’s grace, we reached Mabuhay, where the Aguhob family kindly welcomed us, relieved our hunger, and allowed us to rest.
The next morning, we still could not find anyone selling motorcycle parts. Nevertheless, we continued on. We pushed the motorcycle for another 15 kilometers, until by the goodness of the Lord, we finally reached a motorcycle shop where it was repaired and restored to good condition.
When we visited the public hospital, we found the patients still filled with joy despite their illnesses. We also witnessed the great lack of basic necessities in the hospital—such as cooking pots, mats, tubig, bugas, gatas, sud-anon etch. Yet even in this situation, God provided what was needed.
Praise the Lord for our beloved and hardworking Barangay Captain of San Antonio, who helped in transporting the patients, and for the QRT here in Osmeña for their prompt assistance. We are also deeply thankful to our beloved Mayor and Vice Mayor Bador for the free dinner they provided.
“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” 📖Galatians 6:9
We thank God greatly that in the midst of trials, there are blessings He has already prepared. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to the brethren of the Biayon SDA Church for their tireless support of God’s work, especially in helping those in need. Though we may not mention everyone individually, we trust that God sees every act of love.
“God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love.” 📖 Hebrews 6:10
P.S. We are still here at the hospital, waiting for the doctor this Monday for their urgent check-up and treatment. We humbly ask for your prayers for their speedy recovery.
