ICASDC Badminton Team Raises the School Banner in CEAP Games
The Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School (ICAS) de Calarian badminton team competed fiercely during the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Badminton Tournament eliminations held on December 16, 2025, Tuesday morning at the St. Joseph School Gymnasium. The event brought together badminton players from different Catholic schools in Zamboanga City, including Pilar College, Claret School, St. Joseph School, and Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU).
Men’s Division
In the matchup between ICAS and Claret School, Timojin Hatimil competed in Men’s Singles (A) but Claret secured the win with scores of 16–14 and 31–18. Claret also dominated Men’s Doubles (A) against the ICAS pair Ar'raouf Asim and Yusri Dawami, winning 16–11 and 31–19. ICAS responded strongly in Men’s Singles (B) as Leogem Angelito defeated Claret with scores of 16–11 and 31–22.
Against St. Joseph School, Leogem Angelito once again delivered a victory for ICAS in Men’s Singles (C), winning 16–12 and 31–25. However, St. Joseph edged out ICAS in Men’s Doubles (B) against Timojin Hatimil and Yusri Dawami, winning 16–12 and 31–30. In Men’s Singles (D), Asim earned a win by default.
During the ICAS versus Pilar College matches, Leogem Angelito dominated Men’s Singles (E) with scores of 16–7 and 31–12, securing a win for ICAS. Pilar claimed Men’s Singles (F) against Ar'raouf Asim with scores of 16–9 and 31–23. ICAS regained momentum in Men’s Doubles (C) as Yusri Dawami and Timojin Hatimil won 16–9 and 31–20 against Pilar.
In their encounter with ADZU, Leogem Angelito won Men’s Singles (G) for ICAS with scores of 16–15 and 31–22. ADZU, however, prevailed in Men’s Doubles (D) against Timojin Hatimil and Yusri Dawami, winning 16–8 and 31–14, and also defeated Ar'raouf Asim in Men’s Singles (H) with scores of 16–5 and 31–13.
Women’s Division
In Women’s Singles (A) against Claret School, May Anne S. Dela Cruz bowed down with scores of 16–12 and 31–25 in favor of Claret. ICAS bounced back in Women’s Singles (B) as Angeli Jehanna R. Adling claimed victory with scores of 16–5 and 31–14. Claret also won Women’s Doubles (A) against Norshima M. Sapie and Bianca Joyce O. Garig, finishing 16–3 and 31–4.
Against ADZU, Sapie (C) lost in Women’s Singles after ADZU posted scores of 16–8 and 31–10. Another Women’s Singles match ended in a default win for ADZU after Bianca Joyce O. Garig was unable to continue due to a headache. In Women’s Doubles (B), ICAS’ May Anne S. Dela Cruz and Angeli Jehanna R. Adling won convincingly with scores of 16–7 and 31–10.
In matches versus St. Joseph School, Norshima M. Sapie lost in Women’s Singles (D) with scores of 16–6 and 30–12. The ICAS doubles team Angeli Jehanna R. Adling and Mayanne S. Dela Cruz also fell short in Women’s Doubles (C), losing 16–10 and 31–29.
The CEAP Badminton Tournament eliminations aimed to determine the teams advancing to the next round of competition. Despite varied results, the ICAS de Calarian badminton players displayed strong determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship, proudly raising the school’s banner in the badminton court.
