Today, we give tribute to our wonderful educators who continue to shape young minds, inspire big dreams, and make every school and learning experience more meaningful. Through their unconditional perseverance, patience, and endless support, they remind us that learning goes beyond the classroom.

Beyond the Lessons: ICAS Honors the Hearts Behind the Classroom

The morning began with a burst of energy as the teachers of Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School of Calarian were welcomed not just with applause, but with a lively mob dance prepared by the Bravura Dancers and the Student Government. As the teachers entered, the students’ performance set the tone for a celebration dedicated to the people who spend their days guiding, teaching, and inspiring them.

Following the teachers’ entrance, the program formally opened with a warm welcome for the teachers, staff, and administrators gathered for the celebration. The occasion became more meaningful as the school community took time to recognize the people behind every lesson, reminder, and encouragement given inside the classroom.

A birthday video greeting was then presented for Mrs. Almabel T. Tuble, and Sr. Rovigen Imperial, adding a personal touch to the celebration. This was followed by a series of intermission performances that kept the morning filled with music, energy, and appreciation.

The celebration continued with a short birthday message before the giving of birthday gifts. Another intermission number followed, leading into a short film prepared especially for Teachers’ Day—a simple yet meaningful tribute to the educators who continue to make an impact on their students.

The appreciation continued through the giving of tokens from the GPTA and the Student Government. More than just gifts, the tokens served as small expressions of gratitude for the teachers’ patience, effort, and dedication throughout the school year.

Adding a lighter moment to the celebration was the announcement of the winners for Best in Attire, with one teacher recognized from each department. The program then concluded with closing remarks and the closing proper.

After the formal celebration, students and their class advisers gathered for classroom fellowship and sharing, giving everyone a chance to continue the celebration in a more personal setting.

From the energetic welcome to the heartfelt tributes and simple gestures of gratitude, this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration reminded the ICAS community that behind every lesson is a teacher who chooses, every day, to guide, encourage, and believe in their students.

ICAS de Calarian Holds First Friday Mass for the Month of October

Students and staff gathered for the First Friday Mass of October, led by Rev. Fr. Elmer G. Sumile, RN, EdD., at the school gymnasium on October 2, 2026, Friday of the 26th Week in Ordinary Time.

Before the Mass began, a Holy Rosary was conducted together in faith. Shortly after, the school experienced a sudden power outage. Despite the darkness, the Eucharistic Celebration commenced with the Hymn of Praise at 8:24 a.m.

The First Reading from the Book of Exodus was led by Ms. Denelyn Atilano. The Responsorial Psalm followed, along with the Acclamation of the Gospel according to Matthew.

Mrs. Liezel Mariano Cabiles, LPT, led the homily, where she first shared her early years in teaching and her gradual rise in confidence when speaking before others.

She also discussed the hardships of being a teacher, their imperfections, and what they are expected to fulfill.

Students’ worries and failures were addressed, with teachers playing a vital role in guiding students. She emphasized, “Where us, as teachers, not to despise or give up on our little ones or our learners. Instead, we should try to see their potential.”

This was followed by the Prayers of the Faithful, with the response: “Lord, send your holy angels to guard us.”

The distribution of the Eucharist took place, and before the Mass ended, Rev. Fr. Elmer Sumile called all the teachers and recited a prayer for them while blessing them with holy water. The Eucharistic Celebration was later concluded, beginning the morning event together in faith and praise.

The symposium provided students with valuable information about su***de prevention, emotional well-being, and the importance of seeking help.

The symposium aimed to foster a safe and supportive environment where students could better understand mental health concerns, recognize when someone may need support, and learn appropriate ways to reach out to trusted adults and professionals.

To ensure active participation and representation from every section, all section officers, from the President down to the Secretary, attended the symposium. Their participation helped promote mental health awareness and encouraged them to share the important lessons and information with their respective classmates.

The event also emphasized the importance of compassion, responsible communication, and looking out for one another. Through the symposium, students were encouraged to become supportive peers and contribute to a school community where everyone feels heard, valued, and encouraged to seek help when needed.
