ICAS DC Clinches Championship Title After Hard-Fought Win Over Pilar College

In a thrilling display of teamwork and determination, ICAS DC captured the championship title after defeating Pilar College in an intense 5v5 basketball showdown held in October 18 in the evening. The game, which tipped off at 5:01 p.m. and concluded at 6:25 p.m., had fans roaring with excitement as both teams battled fiercely for every possession.

ICAS DC took early control in the first set, 19–11, relying on tight defense and quick ball movement. Pilar College answered back with grit in the second, but ICAS DC kept their composure, holding a 31–21 lead at halftime.

By the third set, ICAS DC found their rhythm, stretching the score to 47–29 through smart plays and sharp shooting. Pilar College fought valiantly in the final set, closing the gap with a burst of energy, but ICAS DC’s consistency and teamwork carried them through to a 57–45 victory.

The night’s standout was James Alegre, who earned Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors for his outstanding performance. Alegre’s leadership, court vision, and timely baskets were crucial in guiding his team to the top.

As the final buzzer sounded, celebration erupted — ICAS DC are the new champions, their win a testament to dedication, skill, and unity.

Rising from the Ashes: ICAS de Calarian Boys Ignite Comeback Glory Against Baliwasan

The sun blazed over the court of Southcom Elementary School, but it was the fire in the hearts of the ICAS de Calarian Volleyball Boys that truly lit up the game. With sweat, grit, and unshakable determination, they battled against Baliwasan in a match that tested not only their skill but also their spirit.

The first set did not go their way. Despite strong plays and quick rallies, ICAS struggled to find their rhythm as Baliwasan capitalized on every opening, taking the set with a score of 25-20. For a moment, the energy dipped, but only for a moment. The boys huddled, eyes locked with a single goal: to fight back stronger.

And they did. The second set saw a different ICAS de Calarian, more composed and more united. With powerful serves, precise spikes, and unrelenting defense, they turned the game around and stormed through with a commanding 25-16 win. The crowd roared as momentum shifted in their favor.

Then came the final test, the third and deciding set. Every point became a heartbeat, every serve a spark. ICAS played as one, encouraging each other and refusing to let pressure take over. Their teamwork shone brightest when it mattered most, sealing the final set 15-10 and the overall victory.

As the final whistle blew, cheers erupted from teammates and supporters alike. ICAS de Calarian did not just win a game; they proved the power of perseverance, unity, and belief in one another.

ICAS De Calarian Excels in Poomsae and Kyorogi at District Meet: Alano Tops Poomsae Category, Del Rosario Wins Gold in Kyorogi category

Zamboanga City, Philippines, October 17, 2025. The Taekwondo competition of the District Meet took place at the Southcom Elementary School Covered Court, showcasing skill, discipline, and determination among young martial artists from various schools.

In the morning session, the Poomsae category opened the event, where participants were judged based on power, accuracy, and presentation. Representing Immaculate Conception Archdiocesan School De Calarian (ICAS), Raphael Iñigo Alano impressed the judges and secured the gold medal, while Xiandrey Anjalal earned silver, marking a strong start for the ICAS team.

The Kyōrogi competition followed in the afternoon, featuring secondary-level players. Gabrielle Del Rosario, a black belter from ICAS De Calarian, dominated both of his matches with remarkable confidence and composure.

In his first bout against a white belter from Southcom, Del Rosario displayed excellent control and technique, finishing the match with a decisive 30–1 victory in just 1 minute and 30 seconds. His calm and focused demeanor throughout the game impressed both the crowd and the judges.

During his second match versus a player from Baliwasan Senior High School stand-alone, Del Rosario executed a six-kick streak, overpowering his opponent with a final score of 39–5. His impressive performance earned him the championship title in Category 1 Featherweight and a spot in the upcoming Division Meet.

Meanwhile, fellow ICAS representative Isabella Oren, a yellow belter, faced a tough match against a black belter from ZPPSU Senior High School. Despite her loss, Oren showed immense courage, admitting afterward that she felt pressure during the match but remained determined to learn from the experience.

The event highlighted the spirit of sportsmanship, perseverance, and excellence among ICAS athletes, proving that victory is not only measured by medals but also by the dedication and heart shown in every match.

The crowd at Southcom Elementary School was treated to an electrifying volleyball showdown as the ICAS DC Girls’ Volleyball Team edged out Baliwasan in a thrilling three-set battle. The match, held from 9:45 a.m. to 10:56 a.m., ended with scores of 25-22, 15-25, and 15-12, proving to be a true test of skill, composure, and determination.

ICAS DC opened the game strong, claiming the first set 25-22 through sharp coordination and well-timed attacks. The team’s chemistry and energy kept the crowd engaged from the start. However, Baliwasan bounced back in the second set, tightening their defense and catching ICAS DC off guard to take the set 25-15, forcing a decisive third round.

With everything on the line, both teams entered the final set with fierce determination. Every point was a battle — the sound of spikes, digs, and cheers filling the gymnasium. The energy was electric as both sides refused to back down. But when the tension reached its peak, ICAS DC rose to the occasion, showing unshakable focus and relentless teamwork.

In the closing moments, the girls from ICAS DC dug deep and fought with heart, delivering clutch plays that sealed their victory at 15-12.

Faith Francisco shined throughout the match and was rightfully named Best Player of the Game, leading her team with passion, precision, and unstoppable spirit.

The victory marked not just a win on the scoreboard but a testament to ICAS DC’s perseverance and unity — proving that determination and teamwork can conquer even the toughest challenges on the court.

The ICAS DC Women's Volleyball team fought hard to claim victory over Baliwasan in an intense three-set showdown held at Southcom Elementary School. The match which ran from 9:45 a.m. to 10:56 a.m., ended with scores of 25-22, 15-25, and 15-12, showcasing the grit and determination of both teams.

ICAS DC started strong, taking the first set 25-22 through sharp teamwork and precise attacks. However, Baliwasan bounced back in the second set, capitalizing on ICAS DC's errors to win and force a deciding set.

With the pressure at its peak, both teams stepped onto the court for the final set with fierce determination burning in their eyes. The tension was electric - neither side willing to give an inch. But when it mattered most, ICAS DC dug deep, showing unshakable focus and heart. With unstoppable energy and unbreakable teamwork, they surged ahead in the final moments, clinching the win 15-12 after a series of breathtaking rallies that left the crowd on their feet.

ICAS de Calarian Triumphs Over Zamboanga National High School West

The sound of sneakers squeaking on the court, the echo of the ball hitting the floor, and the cheers from the sidelines filled the gym as ICAS de Calarian once again showed what teamwork and passion can do. The Volleyball Boys team soared to victory against Zamboanga National High School West, taking the match in straight sets, 25–18 in the first and confidently securing the win in the second.

The game opened with Zamboanga National High School West gaining early points, but ICAS quickly answered back with strong attacks and tight defense. Through quick passes and sharp spikes, the team found their rhythm and began to take control of the set. Standout players delivered solid plays that kept the energy high, while the crowd roared with every rally. ICAS maintained their lead until the final moments, finishing the first set at 25–18.

In the second set, ICAS returned to the court with even more focus and intensity. Their serves landed with precision, and their fast transitions from defense to offense left their opponents struggling to respond. Every member of the team contributed, showing trust and connection in every move. With their consistent plays and unshakable teamwork, ICAS sealed the match with a confident 25–12 victory.

When asked about the win, MVP Kenshin Uchida shared, “It was a good game and a big boost to my self-esteem, but I know that we could’ve done better.” His humility reflected the team’s desire to continue improving despite their success.

Beyond the scoreboards and the medals, this victory speaks of growth and resilience. The players’ hard work, long practices, and unbreakable bond continue to shape their journey through the District Meet 2025. For ICAS de Calarian, each game is not just about winning but about becoming stronger together.
