A BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL ISLAMIC COMMUNITY!
Muslims welcome the 1447 Al-Hijra on June 26, 2025, where on this holiday, over 1,400 years ago, where Prophet Muhammad and his followers migrated from Makkah to Medina. This event, also known as Hijrah, the epoch of the Islamic calendar, has left lasting impact to good and faithful Muslims worldwide, who believes in values and teachings according to the holy word. Muslims, centre or moderate ones, opposes radical and extremist beliefs which violently teaches warfare and threathen the most vulnerable and the whole human race, including the Jews and Israeli people.
While the New Year solemny celebrated amongst majority of Muslims, the Karbala remembrance marks by prayer and mourning among Muslims of Shia denomination, to commemorate the death of Husayin and his companions, 1,345 years ago. Similarly, this solemn day for Summi sect of Islam remembers the death of Muhammad's father in law Umar, who died by assassination by a Persian slave 22 years after the Hijrah events.
While the first of Muharram marks the beginning of Islamic Year, this day is a very solemn day to the Muslim Community, sonit is fitting to celebrate the Islamic New Year with prayers and with hopes that Peace in Israel, Palestinian Authority, Iran, and the entire Middle East will prevail. We encourage everyone, especially Muslims, to refrain about what is happening in Middle East and your expression amidst the ongoing war and the curb to wipe-off anti-Semites, Islamists and terrorists within the face of the world. Let's make peace and love to everyone, and ensures that is safe and secure in our diverse environment, regardless of races and religion.
We at Creche Integrated Studies Centre is celebrate with the Islamic Community this Islamic New Year. The classes at Creche is suspended on June 16, 2025 in accordance to Presidential Decree no. 1083 (enacted in 1977) which declared Amun Jaidid or Awal Muharram a Muslim legal holiday in selected areas in Regiona 9, 10, 12, and in BARMM. However, the Bangsamoro Holidays Act (enacted in 2023) downranked Amun Jaidid as a Special Working Holiday in the BARMM, that means Amun Jaidid, among with Maluludin Nabi and Isra Wal Miraj, based on Islamic calendar that determines the date of the Muslim holidays year-after-year with the guidance of National Commission on Muslim Filipinos, continues to observe as legal holiday in the areas under PD1083, including Zamboanga City, while regular work continues in Bangsamoro Region.
