Laltain (Kerosene Lantern):
For decades, the laltain was an essential source of light in villages across Pakistan and India. Used in homes, fields, and courtyards, it allowed families to cook, study, socialize, and work after sunset in areas without electricity or during power outages. Affordable, portable, and durable, the laltain became a symbol of rural resilience and self-reliance. Even today, it holds cultural value as a reminder of simpler times and shared village life across the subcontinent.
