In accordance with the directions of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s Flood and Relief Cell is vigorously engaged in providing maximum support to the flood-affected communities. A dedicated team consisting of Prof. Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman Department of Social Work, and Dr. Shahzad Ahmad Khalid, Director Public Relations, recently visited the severely hit areas of Jalalpur Pirwala. During their visit, the team distributed essential food packets among the deserving families, organized a free medical camp to address urgent health needs, and extended moral support to the victims of the calamity. These efforts reflect IUB’s unwavering commitment to community service and its spirit of social responsibility. Alhamdulillah, at this critical juncture in history, the university stands firm in its mission of serving humanity, extending all possible resources to bring relief, comfort, and hope to those facing the hardships of natural disaster.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), paid a courtesy call on Member National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal today. He was accompanied by Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain, Associate Professor in the Department of Media and Communication Studies, and Malik Noman, a PhD Scholar. The meeting provided an opportunity to deliberate on key areas of institutional growth, including the promotion of academic standards, faculty development, enhancement of IT infrastructure, and the establishment of a digital platform to facilitate e-commerce opportunities for students and the wider community of the region. Malik Muhammad Iqbal warmly welcomed the Vice Chancellor and assured him of his fullest support for the development of IUB. He further added that Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly, Malik Zaheer Iqbal, would remain in close contact with the Vice Chancellor to extend the necessary cooperation, guidance, and facilitation from the Punjab Government. Congratulating Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran on his appointment as Vice Chancellor, he expressed pride in his leadership as “a son of the soil” and urged him to strengthen the university’s academic standards, promote its soft image, and introduce innovative IT-based initiatives. The Honourable Vice Chancellor Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, flanked by Prince Bahawal Abbas Khan Abbasi, senior faculty & administration hoisted the national flag at Abbasia Campus to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day and the centenary celebrations of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, followed by a salute from the university security division. In his address, the Vice Chancellor highlighted 14th August as a milestone in national history, describing Pakistan as the masterpiece of Allama Iqbal’s vision and Quaid-e-Azam’s leadership, and paid rich tribute to Mohsin-e-Pakistan and founder of Jamia Islamia Bahawalpur, Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi V, for his unparalleled role in the creation and stability of Pakistan. Vice Chancellor IUB Pays Tribute to Martyred Police Officers in Katcha Area

The Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), Engr. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, called on Regional Police Officer Bahawalpur, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rai Babar Saeed, at his office to pay rich tribute to the brave police officials martyred in the Katcha Area during operations against organized crime.

Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain, Associate Professor at the Department of Media and Communication Studies, also accompanied the Vice Chancellor on this solemn occasion.

Speaking to the RPO, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran commended the Punjab Police, particularly the Bahawalpur Police, for their consistent and professional efforts in maintaining law and order. He praised the force for instilling a sense of security among the public through their tireless work and sacrifice. “The martyred police officials are the true heroes of our society who laid down their lives in defense of the people. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten,” the Vice Chancellor said while offering Fateha for the departed souls.

DIG Rai Babar Saeed expressed gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran for his thoughtful gesture and recognition of the martyrs. He stated that the Bahawalpur Police remained resolute in their mission to eradicate criminal elements and safeguard citizens’ lives and property. “It is indeed encouraging to see academia stand united with the police force. Such solidarity boosts the morale of our personnel and strengthens community trust,” he added.

During the meeting, both dignitaries also fondly recalled their educational journey in the provincial capital and emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and law enforcement in creating a safer society.
