Oh Muslims! The command to lower your gaze (غَضُّ البَصَر) pertains to interactions with non-mahram individuals. It certainly does not apply when your brothers and sisters are being brutalized by enemy forces, as is happening in Gaza and other places today. Do not emulate the people of Kufa, who, during a critical moment, chose to look the other way when Muslims and Islam desperately needed their material support.

Dear Parents,
Teach your children to lower their gaze (‎غَضُّ البَصَر) when interacting with non-Mahram individuals. However, also instill in them the importance of not looking away when Muslims are being slaughtered. Raise them to be like Imam Hussain, standing up to the Yazids of today. Warn them against becoming like the Kufis, silent spectators, or abettors of injustice.
