The Human Rights Council of Pakistan is honoured to announce that Ch. Mohammed Akhtar (TI), Chairman & Founder, Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT), has been selected for the Human Rights Excellence Award 2025 in recognition of his extraordinary humanitarian services in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan.
Ch. Mohammed Akhtar (TI) is a dedicated philanthropist and visionary leader whose lifelong mission has been to uplift and empower vulnerable communities. Through KORT, he has spearheaded wide-ranging initiatives that have brought hope, dignity, and transformation to thousands of lives. His contributions include:
• Quality education for orphan and underprivileged children through modern residential and educational facilities
• Emergency relief operations across AJK and Pakistan, delivering timely support during natural disasters and crises
• Clean water projects ensuring safe drinking water in communities where it was once a dream
• Housing for widows, providing secure and dignified shelter to families with no support
• Healthcare services, including medical camps and permanent facilities under KORT
His tireless humanitarian work has earned him national recognition, including the prestigious Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (TI) awarded by the Government of Pakistan.
In acknowledgement of his remarkable and selfless contributions to human welfare, social justice, and community development, the Human Rights Council of Pakistan proudly confers upon Ch. Mohammed Akhtar (TI) the Human Rights Excellence Award 2025.
The award will be presented at a special ceremony on 10 December 2025, in observance of International Human Rights Day, with distinguished guests, civil society, and human rights advocates in attendance.
