: Spanish climber Armando Marco Plasceres Suárez, known as Mendi, who recently summited Spangtik Peak, has sent a letter to the President and General Secretary of the Alpine Club of Pakistan. In the letter, he alleged that his photos and videos were published without consent, terming it a violation of privacy and a criminal offense under European law.

Mendi further claimed that he was forcibly kept in a hotel in Skardu for a week, his passport was confiscated, and he was pressured to issue a statement in exchange for a summit certificate. He has demanded compensation of €165,789, warning that if not rectified, Spanish judicial police and international media will launch a strong campaign.
