Devastating incident at PIMS where newborn babies lost their liv-es in a f!re. 14 babies.
It's a tragedy of immense proportions and any sane society would not stop talking about it for months to come.
Utter disregard of human life. Utter negligence among those in corridors of power. How can there be no attendant at the nursery? How can there be no doctors present in the vicinity and stop what's happening?
Mind you, PIMS is a government hospital.
Where was the hospital staff? Where was the fire equipment? Where were the smoke detectors and water sprinklers and fire extinguishers? I'm sure all of that was paid for but why weren't these present and usable when a room filled with chil-dr-n started b-urning? Also, how long did the rescue teams take to come and stop the inferno? Was it corruption? Negligence? Or both?
Will this incident too be hushed under a carpet like all those before? Or this time the state will say enough is enough and make those responsible an example?
Next few days will tell. Prayers for the grieving parents. 🤲
