A Picture Taken Before a Storm of Grief, The Only Son Waiting for the Father Who Would Never Return !!!
After the martyrdom of Assistant Commissioner Miranshah, Shah Wali Khan Shaheed, the family needed to be informed, yet that moment before conveying the news became the heaviest moment I have ever lived. Just before they were told that they had to leave for their native village, I faced Helmand, the only four-year-old son of the Shaheed officer, standing there in front of me, unaware, innocent and waiting for a father who would never return.
In that moment, little Helmand stood there waiting. Waiting for a voice he would never hear again. Waiting for arms that would never hold him again. Waiting with the hope that he still believed his Baba would walk in at any second.
And I stared at him, knowing the truth. Knowing that the father he was waiting for had already departed from this world. Knowing about his father, everything in this child’s life would shatter.
How does one prepare a family for such news? How does one prepare a child for a lifetime of absence? How does one tell a son that his hero is gone… forever?
That moment is not just a memory. It is a freeze-framed scream. It is the final peaceful moment before sadness fills the house. It is the final second before a child’s world collapses.
Assistant Commissioner Shah Wali Khan did not choose this. He did not choose to leave behind a young son or to be remembered with tears instead of smiles. He chose only to serve with courage and unwavering commitment to his people, yet this is how his lifelong dedication to public service was repaid. A man who protected others, served the community, lost his life and little Helmand, his only four-year-old son, has been left to bear a lifetime of emptiness.
The journey of that family, preparing to leave for their village after receiving the devastating news, was not a journey of kilometres. It was a journey of breaking hearts, shattering dreams and burying a future.
Today, a tribe lost its pride. A district lost a brave officer. The public lost a committed servant and a little boy lost his entire universe.
May Allah elevate the rank of Assistant Commissioner Shah Wali Khan Shaheed, grant patience and strength to his family and place divine comfort upon the trembling heart of young Helmand.

اسسٹنٹ کمشنر میرانشاہ، شاہ ولی خان شہید کی شہادت کے بعد جب ان کے خاندان کو یہ دل توڑ دینے والی خبر دینا ضروری تھی، تو وہ لمحہ میری زندگی کا سب سے بھاری لمحہ بن گیا۔ اپنے آبائی گاؤں روانگی کی اطلاع دینے سے کچھ دیر پہلے میں نے ہلمند کو دیکھا — شہید افسر کا اکلوتا چار سالہ بیٹا — جو میرے سامنے معصومیت اور بے خبری کے ساتھ کھڑا تھا، اس باپ کا انتظار کرتے ہوئے جو کبھی واپس نہ آ سکے گا۔
اس لمحے چھوٹا ہلمند خاموش کھڑا تھا۔ ایک ایسی آواز کے انتظار میں جو اب کبھی نہیں سنائی دے گی۔ ایسی بانہوں کے انتظار میں جو اب کبھی اسے اپنی آغوش میں نہیں لیں گی۔ اس امید کے ساتھ کہ ابھی اس کا بابا دروازہ کھول کر اندر آ جائے گا۔
اور میں اسے دیکھ رہا تھا، دل میں وہ سچائی لیے ہوئے جو وہ نہیں جانتا تھا۔ یہ جانتے ہوئے کہ جس باپ کا وہ بے چین ہو کر انتظار کر رہا تھا، وہ اس دنیا سے رخصت ہو چکا ہے۔ یہ جانتے ہوئے کہ چند لمحوں میں یہ حقیقت اس بچے کی پوری دنیا بدل دے گی۔
ایسی خبر کے لیے کسی خاندان کو کیسے سنبھالا دیا جاتا ہے؟ ایک ننھے بچے کو عمر بھر کی جدائی کیسے سمجھائی جا سکتی ہے؟ ایک بیٹے کو کیسے بتایا جائے کہ اس کا ہیرو… ہمیشہ کے لیے چلا گیا؟
وہ لمحہ محض ایک یاد نہیں تھا۔ وہ ایک دبی ہوئی چیخ تھا۔ وہ گھر کے سکون کا آخری سانس تھا۔ وہ ایک بچے کی دنیا کے ٹوٹ جانے سے پہلے کا آخری پل تھا۔
اسسٹنٹ کمشنر شاہ ولی خان نے یہ انجام خود نہیں چُنا تھا۔ انہوں نے اپنے اکلوتے بیٹے کو یتیم چھوڑنے کا فیصلہ نہیں کیا تھا، نہ ہی یہ کہ وہ لوگوں کے دلوں میں مسکراہٹوں کے بجائے آنسوؤں میں یاد کیے جائیں۔ انہوں نے تو صرف خدمت کا راستہ چُنا تھا ، ہمت، سچائی اور اپنے لوگوں کے لیے بےلوث محبت کے ساتھ ، مگر ان کی پوری زندگی کی خدمت کا صلہ انہیں اسی طرح ملا۔ ایک شخص جو دوسروں کی حفاظت اور بھلائی میں لگا رہا، اپنی جان سے گزر گیا، اور ننھا ہلمند، ان کا اکلوتا چار سالہ بیٹا، ساری زندگی کی محرومی کا بوجھ اٹھانے کے لیے رہ گیا۔
اس خاندان کا سفر ، دردناک خبر کے بعد گاؤں کی طرف ، صرف فاصلے کا سفر نہیں تھا۔ وہ ٹوٹتے دلوں، بکھرتی امیدوں اور دفن ہوتے مستقبل کا سفر تھا۔
آج ایک قبیلے نے اپنا فخر کھو دیا۔ ایک ضلع نے اپنا بہادر افسر کھو دیا۔ عوام نے اپنا سچا خادم کھو دیا اور ایک ننھے بچے نے اپنی پوری دنیا کھو دی۔
اللہ اسسٹنٹ کمشنر شاہ ولی خان شہید کے درجات بلند فرمائے، ان کے خاندان کو صبر اور حوصلہ عطا کرے، اور ننھے ہلمند کے لرزتے دل پر اپنی خاص رحمت نازل فرمائے۔
