We are presenting ‘Voices of the Youth on G.M. Sayed: Life, Politics & Struggle (1904–1995)’. This youth-led event, marking a tribute on the 122nd birth anniversary of G.M. Syed, reflects on the life and political thought of one of Sindh’s most consequential intellectuals and political figures, widely regarded as the founding father of modern Sindhi nationalism. A philosopher, politician, scholar, and author of more than sixty books, Syed’s ideas continue to shape debates on Sindhi identity, nationalism and self-determination. This program aims to critically explore and discuss his political journey and struggles, while examining how his ideas resonate within today’s regional and global political debates. It also invites thoughtful reflection on the relevance, complexities and enduring influence of his politics in the present day, including how his thought aligns with questions of the rights of marginalized nations in Pakistan. This program is being organized under the Roshni Dialogues series, with the support of the Indie Art Commune. You are all cordially invited to attend on time.
