Pakistan’s Supreme Court has ordered that former Prime Minister Imran Khan be transferred from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for medical examination and treatment. The court has directed authorities to arrange the transfer under security and ordered the formation of a medical board comprising specialists, including Imran Khan’s personal physician, Dr. Faisal Sultan. The court has also allowed family access during his hospital stay.

The development follows months of appeals from Khan’s family and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for better access to medical care and his personal doctors.
