We must all stop repeating the same ‘50,000-60,000’ range of deaths in Gaza. On December 22nd 2023, less than 50 days of the occupation’s genocide in Gaza, the number of confirmed deaths, without people under the rubble, was 20,057. We are now on day 707.
If their own genocidal army is confirming 200,000 casualties, just know that number is indeed much higher.
According to Skewering History: The Odious Politics of Counting Gaza’s Dead by Dr Richard Hil and Dr Gideon Polya.
They say 680,000 Gazan dead (as of April 2025), they also go on to say this includes an estimated 380,000 kids under the age of 5 years.
A Lancet study named ‘Counting the dead in Gaza: difficult but essential’ estimated that the death toll in Gaza during the first nine months of the occupation’s genocide was about 40% higher than numbers recorded by the Palestinian territory’s health ministry.
