The Youth Parliament of Pakistan (YPP) has announced the appointment of Mr. Qaiser Jamil (Advocate) as Coordinator of its Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Chapter. The official notification was issued by President Youth Parliament of Pakistan Ubaid ur Rehman Qureshi, following the approval of the Core Committee, chaired by Abrar ul Haq on the occasion of Pakistan Independence Day.

Mr. Jamil will spearhead efforts to mobilize the youth of AJK in nation-building, promote a positive image of Pakistan, and advocate for the Kashmir cause at national and international levels.

Mr. Qaiser has an impressive track record, having served as Secretary International Relations for the YPP. He has represented Pakistan at prestigious platforms, including the United Nations and the UK Parliament, and contested the Commonwealth Youth Council Election 2024.

The YPP established its AJK Chapter in 2016 with a mission to engage and empower the youth of Azad Kashmir, acting as a bridge to advance Pakistan’s national interests. In the past, Ubaid Qureshi served as the Chapter Secretary and now leads the YPP as National President. AJK members also hold significant national positions, such as Bilal Sheikh (Cabinet Secretary), Waleed Khan (Joint Secretary) and Zobia Raja (Cabinet Member).

Throughout his career, Mr. Qaiser has actively contributed to national and international youth platforms, advocating on issues including quality education, climate action, human rights, and inclusion. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensuring meaningful youth participation in decision-making processes.

“The young people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir hold immense potential to shape the future,” said Mr. Jamil. “My mission is to provide them with platforms, and opportunities so they can take a part in National Development of Pakistan in a positive way.

Social media is stirred up after national cricketer Shoaib Malik teased show host and actor Fahad Mustafa about his co-star Hania Aamir from Kabhi Mein, Kabhi Tum during a Ramzan game show. The moment, which quickly went viral, sparked criticism from fans.

During the show, Shoaib asked Fahad, “This contestant’s name is Rania, but why did you call her Hania?” To this, Fahad replied, “Let me tell you an interesting fact; I’ve never called Hania Amir by her name. I always call her Sharjeena.”

Not letting it slide, the cricketer added, “There’s no need to take it so seriously.” However, social media users didn’t find his remarks amusing. Many accused him of unnecessary flirtation, with some even bringing up his past controversies.

An undated video has been making the rounds online, showing an unidentified individual putting up posters featuring incarcerated former premier Imran Khan’s image, along with the Urdu text “main wapas aa raha hoon” (I’m coming back), across various directional signboards in Lahore.

In the 51-second clip, which has now gone viral, an unknown man wearing a black cap and black trousers can be seen putting up the poster on multiple directional signboards around the city.

Some of the apparent locations where the posters were put up include signs reading “Sharif Medical City Road,” “Jati Umra Chowk,” and “Raiwind City.”

The video has stirred some debate online, with many netizens expressing concern that the posters could obscure important road directions.
