PSW-Pakistan Single Window

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) is Company Registered with SECP under section 42 of Companies Act 2017, administratively controlled by Federal Board of Revenue Customs Department Government of Pakistan. Pakistan has committed to develop and launch its NSW by 2022, aptly called Pakistan Single Window (PSW) with Pakistan Customs being designated as the ‘Lead Agency’ by the Prime Minister’s Office for d

evelopment of this important reform initiative. Accordingly, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established a Program Management Office (PMO) in Customs Wing to coordinate and supervise this initiative. A Single Window is a facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single-entry point to fulfill all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements. Pakistan Single Window will help reduce the time and cost of doing business in Pakistan and make trade related business processes more efficient, transparent and consistent.

Pakistan Single Window (PSW) participated in the 2𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗸–𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗕2𝗕 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 in Beijing, organized by the Government of Pakistan’s Board of Investment alongside the Honorable Prime Minister’s visit to China. Representing PSW, Aamish Ahmed joined senior government officials, business leaders, and investors to explore new opportunities for bilateral trade and investment.

The conference served as a platform for PSW to demonstrate how its digital trade ecosystem can complement China–Pakistan economic cooperation by accelerating customs clearance, supporting e-commerce linkages, and enabling seamless cross-border connectivity. Through direct engagement with Chinese stakeholders, PSW explored potential collaborations, joint ventures, and technology partnerships designed to reinforce supply chains, improve trade connectivity, and enhance the competitiveness of Pakistani exports in regional and global markets. Beyond bilateral opportunities, PSW highlighted its role in advancing global trade facilitation and boosting the competitiveness of Pakistani exports in international markets.

Under its initiative, PSW successfully hosted the workshop in Karachi, empowering nearly 100 textile SMEs, 33% of which were women-led, to strengthen their export readiness. The session brought together leadership and executive management from all major textile associations, alongside senior representatives from government entities, financial institutions, NGOs, and IGOs.

The key highlight of the workshop was the soft launch of PSW’s Trade Lab, Pakistan's first digital e-learning platform for trade, which offers specialized courses on international trade, customs, export procedures, e-commerce, and marketing to help SMEs, including women-led businesses, achieve sustainable global growth.

Using PSW systems, devices, or data to make false or illegal claims, forge contracts, or manipulate information for fraud is strictly prohibited. Such actions are a punishable cybercrime under the PSW Act, 2021, and will be dealt with seriously in accordance with the law.

At the UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Pakistan workshop, Pakistan Single Window (PSW) was recognized as a leading case study in inter-agency coordination and collaboration. Representing PSW, Umair Mahmood, Domain Officer, shared how the platform’s reforms are driving trust, efficiency, and sustainable digital transformation across Pakistan’s trade ecosystem.

By integrating key government bodies such as Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan - DRAP, the Ministry of Narcotics Control and Anti Narcotics Force, PSW provides a unified digital platform that enables real-time data access, seamless electronic information exchange, and optimized workflows. By consolidating multiple regulatory processes into a single digital framework, PSW minimizes delays, strengthens compliance, and promotes greater transparency across agencies, ultimately enabling faster and more efficient trade.

The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) system is a secure national platform built to simplify compliance and ensure transparency in cross-border trade. Any unauthorized access, manipulation of data, or misuse of PSW systems, devices or systems connected to ancillary thereto is a punishable offence under the PSW Act 2021, with penalties including up to 3 years imprisonment, fines, or both.

By staying safe and compliant, users help protect the integrity of Pakistan’s digital cross-border trade ecosystem and strengthen trust in global commerce.

Focusing on the Apparel and Surgical sectors, PSW, in collaboration with Alibaba.com, recently conducted an session in Sialkot. Led by Noman Ahmad, the session introduced participants to the Single Declaration (SD), a key feature of the PSW platform that consolidates all regulatory information into a single digital form. By streamlining documentation, SD reduces delays, strengthens compliance, and enhances efficiency in international trade. Members from 𝗣𝗥𝗚𝗠𝗘𝗔, 𝗣𝗛𝗠𝗔, 𝗣𝗟𝗚𝗠𝗘𝗔, 𝗣𝗘𝗠𝗗𝗔, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗛𝗗𝗔 joined the session.

PSW is transforming pharmaceutical regulatory processes through its integration with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). The DRAP Clearance Gateway, a cutting-edge digital platform, streamlines licensing, import permits, and approvals by eliminating in-person visits and enabling real-time tracking, digital fee payments, and online approvals. By enhancing transparency across the pharmaceutical supply chain and expediting clearance of essential medicines, the gateway improves operational efficiency and aligns Pakistan’s pharmaceutical trade with international standards.

PSW recently held a session as part of the Specialized Training Programme (STP) for probationers of the 52nd Common Training Programme (CTP) at the Customs Academy of Pakistan.

Imran Razzaq, Domain Officer, gave a detailed orientation of the PSW platform, highlighting key initiatives and upcoming projects driving digital transformation in trade facilitation. Rizwan Samad introduced the Trade Information Portal of Pakistan (TIPP), explaining how it simplifies access to laws, procedures, regulatory requirements, and policy updates for imports, exports, and transit trade.

Through such sessions, PSW continues to strengthen knowledge and capacity, supporting modern, transparent, and efficient customs and trade facilitation in Pakistan.
