High-level meeting reviews economy, energy and regional situation

Islamabad: 26 March 2026 — President Asif Ali Zardari chaired a high-level consultative meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr to review the evolving economic and energy situation in the backdrop of oil supply constraints and rising petroleum prices, alongside regional security developments.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & Chief of Defence Forces also attended the meeting.

Other participants included Deputy Prime Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chairman PPP and ex-Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Federal Minister for Interior Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Federal Minister for Finance Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Energy and Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Secretary Finance.

The meeting reviewed the impact of fluctuations in global oil and gas supplies and prices on Pakistan’s economy, with particular focus on managing inflationary pressures and ensuring energy security.

The Ministers for Finance and Petroleum briefed the meeting on ongoing measures to stabilise petroleum prices, manage the effects of rising fuel costs on other sectors of the economy and enforce fiscal discipline through austerity measures to reduce expenditure pressures.

The broader regional situation also came under discussion, including its implications for Pakistan’s security, economic outlook and food security. The meeting emphasised the need for a coordinated national response, noting that policy decisions must prioritise stability while safeguarding the interests of the public.

The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining national consensus and strengthening institutional coordination in view of emerging regional challenges. It was agreed that economic management, energy planning, food security and broader security considerations must remain closely aligned to meet this challenging situation.

The meeting also emphasised the need for public awareness to reduce fuel consumption, encourage the use of public transportation and promote shared ride systems.

Kohlu
Incident of roof collapse due to rain; injured person passes away
A tragic incident occurred following heavy rainfall during the night in the Kohlu city area, where the roof of a house collapsed due to the rain, leaving two people injured.
The injured were initially provided first aid at Kohlu DHQ Hospital and were later referred to Multan for further treatment. One of the injured succumbed to his wounds.
The deceased has been reported to be from Kashmir.

District President of Pakistan Muslim League, Kohlu, Umar Farooq Zarkoon, held a special meeting with the Commandant of FC Kohlu, Maawand Brigade, Mr. Farooq Ashraf, and Wing Commander Colonel Taha Ali Khan to extend Eid greetings.

حکیم شہزاد لوہا پاڑ بری طرح پھنس گئے： مقدمہ درج، دوا خانہ پرآئی میلسی وہاڑی کی خاتون کو ہراساں، بلیک میل اور جسمانی تعلقات کے لیے مجبور کرنے پر حکیم شہزاد کے خلاف مقدمہ درج،
وہ "حکیم شہزاد المعروف لوہاپاڑ " جس نے حال ہی میں پانچویں شادی کھڑکائی ، جو خود کو ناقابلِ تسخیر سمجھتا تھا، ایک بار پھر قانون کے شکنجے میں ہے۔ لیکن اس بار کہانی مختلف ہے۔
ذرائع بتاتے ہیں کہ ماضی میں سی سی ڈی سے بچ نکلنے والا یہ کردار اب بری طرح پھنس چکا ہے۔
راجہ رام پولیس اسٹیشن میں درج ہونے والی حالیہ ایف آئی آر نے وہ کچے چٹھے کھول دیے ہیں کہ اب شاید معافی کی گنجائش باقی نہیں رہی۔
ایف آئی آر کے مطابق، مدعیہ (ثمینہ مائی) نے پولیس کو بیان دیا کہ وہ اولاد کے حصول کے لیے علاج کی غرض سے ملزم حکیم شہزاد اور اس کے ساتھی اسامہ سمیع کے پاس گئی تھیں۔
مدعیہ کا الزام ہے کہ ملزمان نے دھوکے سے ان کے ساتھ ناجائز تعلقات استوار کیے اور نازیبا ویڈیوز بنا لیں۔
درخواست گزار کے مطابق:
* ملزمان نے ان ویڈیوز کی بنیاد پر انہیں بلیک میل کرنا شروع کر دیا۔
* اب تک ملزمان مدعیہ سے 3 لاکھ 70 ہزار روپے ہتھیا چکے ہیں۔
* ملزمان خاتون پر دباؤ ڈال رہے تھے کہ وہ اپنے شوہر کو چھوڑ کر ان کے ساتھ "ناجائز تعلقات" قائم رکھے، بصورتِ دیگر ویڈیوز سوشل میڈیا پر وائرل کرنے کی دھمکیاں دی گئیں۔
پولیس نے ملزمان کے خلاف مجموعہ تعزیراتِ پاکستان کی درج ذیل دفعات کے تحت مقدمہ درج کر لیا ہے:
* دفعہ 354: خاتون کی بے حرمتی کرنا۔
* دفعہ 506: مجرمانہ دھمکیاں دینا۔
* دفعہ 509: خاتون کو ہراساں کرنا یا نازیبا کلمات ادا کرنا۔
پولیس حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ کیس کی تفتیش انچارج انویسٹی گیشن کے سپرد کر دی گئی ہے اور ملزمان کی گرفتاری کے لیے چھاپے مارے جا رہے ہیں۔
شہر میں سرگوشیاں عام ہیں کہ اس بار معاملہ صرف کاغذوں تک محدود نہیں رہے گا۔ جس بے دردی سے ایک مجبور خاتون کو بلیک میل کیا گیا اور لاکھوں روپے بٹورے گئے، اس نے عوامی غصے کو ہوا دے دی ۔
حکیم لوہا پاڑ اس وقت روپوش ہے، لیکن سوال یہ ہے کہ وہ کب تک بھاگے گا؟ کیا اس بار واقعی "نیفے میں پستول" چلنے کا وقت آگیا ہے؟ (یعنی کیا قانون کا آہنی ہاتھ اسے عبرت کا نشان بنائے گا؟)
مقدمہ نمبر 124/26 کے مطابق، یہ صرف ایک طبی معالج اور مریض کا قصہ نہیں بلکہ ایک منظم بلیک میلنگ نیٹ ورک کی داستان ہے:
* علاج کے نام پر دھوکہ: اولاد کی نعمت کے لیے آنے والی خاتون کو جھانسہ دے کر نازیبا ویڈیوز بنائی گئیں۔
لوگ پوچھ رہے ہیں کہ پچھلی بار اسے کس نے بچایا؟ سی سی ڈی کی فائلیں کیا کہتی ہیں؟ لیکن اس بار مدعیہ کے پاس ٹھوس شواہد اور ایف آئی آر کی صورت میں قانونی ہتھیار موجود ہے۔ ملزم کی فرار کی کوششیں اس کے جرم پر مہر لگا رہی ہیں۔
ایسا لگتا ہے کہ حکیم لوہا پاڑ کے گرد گھیرا اتنا تنگ ہو چکا ہے کہ اب اسے اپنی بچی کھچی ساکھ بچانے کا موقع بھی نہیں ملے گا۔۔۔
