The Pakistani government has paid over $4.3 million (Rs. 1.2 billion) to a financial advisor for the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), but the sale remains incomplete.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Privatization revealed that 63% of the advisory fee has already been paid, with a total due amount of $6.9 million.

The previous bid for PIA was deemed unacceptable, and the financial advisor will only receive payments for the second phase after the sale is finalized.

Meanwhile, discussions also addressed PIA’s assets, including the Roosevelt Hotel in New York, and the ongoing financial troubles of the Utility Stores Corporation.

The fresh coat of paint on the bike lane in Lahore, constructed at a cost of 110 million rupees, has been thoroughly washed off after a single rain shower, triggering serious doubts about improper planning and wastage of money. The costly paint has not just faded but has also made the track slippery, endangering motorcyclists. According to reports, rainwater has been collected in several places, and it has become a problem for bikers to move around safely.
Sources indicate that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) used a huge sum of money only on the paint, but even a slight shower was sufficient to wipe it off. The green and orange strips, intended to mark the biker lanes, peeled off the moment they came into contact with water, leaving behind the shoddy quality of material. Citizens have condemned the LDA severely for its incompetence and demanded accountability for the millions lost.

Islamabad Cracks Down on Wall-Chalking to Restore City’s Beauty
The Islamabad district administration has launched a strict crackdown against wall-chalking, aiming to restore the city’s clean and aesthetic look. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has directed authorities to take immediate action against individuals or groups responsible for unauthorized graffiti, whether for business or political purposes.
As part of this initiative, officials have been instructed to remove existing wall-chalking, while FIRs will be registered against those violating the law. The administration has emphasized that Islamabad’s beauty must be preserved, warning that strict penalties will follow for those caught defacing public and private spaces.
Will this effort finally put an end to wall-chalking in the capital?

The Rawalpindi Ring Road project has hit a major milestone, with 70% of construction work completed and girders installed on Soan Bridge. Designed to ease traffic congestion and boost economic connectivity, the 38-kilometer road will divert heavy traffic away from Rawalpindi’s busiest areas, improving commute times and air quality.
With six lanes, modern traffic management systems, and dedicated service roads, the project is expected to reshape urban mobility. Real estate and business investors are already eyeing opportunities along the corridor, anticipating a rise in economic activity.
Residents and transporters are hopeful, calling the project a “game-changer” for daily travel in Rawalpindi. The Punjab government has assured timely completion, with the road set to be operational by early 2026.
Will this project finally put an end to Rawalpindi’s traffic nightmares?

🚨700 Parents Initially Refuse Polio Vaccine in Islamabad—Authorities Step In
During the latest anti-polio campaign in Islamabad, which ran from February 3 to February 9, over 700 parents initially refused to vaccinate their children. Concerns ranged from misconceptions about the vaccine’s safety to religious and social myths, including fears of children being used as “guinea pigs” or claims that the vaccine could cause impotence.
Despite these refusals, the capital administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon, managed to convince hesitant families to vaccinate their children. Officials noted that even some educated parents resisted the campaign, further highlighting the ongoing challenge of misinformation.
With polio still a serious threat in Pakistan, health officials continue to push for awareness and education to ensure every child is protected. But with myths still circulating, can polio eradication efforts succeed? Tell us in comments.
