People are there for either a Reason or a Lifetime.
I strongly believe that some people are either friends for a reason or a lifetime, and not everybody is meant to be both.
To understand this, think of a launched rocket ship with boosters attached to it. At some point, it reaches some altitudes where the boosters fall off, and then the rocket keeps going and going and going into higher space. The boosters have already completed that role. They are to help the rocket get to a certain height, but they cannot go higher than this.
It means wherever you are in life, whatever you are doing, it does not mean that everyone who is currently in your life can also ascend to the same heights or move in the same direction as you are.
Therefore it is absolutely fine if you do lose some friends along the way or you lose some people along the way because they are not meant to be there for a lifetime; they are there for a season. They might also be there for a reason; they might be teaching you something that you did not know, whether it is resilience whether it is how to deal with difficulties with challenges, but they are not meant to be there forever.
So, stop trying to hold on to relationships or friends that are not meant to be in the new places where you are going to be. If you are lucky enough to find the people who are meant to be there for a lifetime, cherish them because this is so unique; there is nothing like having friends who are really wishing the best for you and cheering you on as you achieve your heights.
