Ahead of the protest of TLP, roads in Islamabad and Rawalpindi were blocked, and mobile internet services were suspended.

The Islamabad administration has placed shipping containers at Faizabad Interchange, the historic site of several sit-ins.

In Islamabad, multiple entry points to the Red Zone as well as various other points in the city have been completely closed due to the ongoing protests.

Containers have been placed to block Serena Chowk, Express Chowk, Nadra Chowk, and Marriott Chowk, effectively sealing off the area. Only the Margalla Avenue area is open to enter the Red Zone.

An army officer embraced martyred in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan, during which seven Indian proxy t*rrorists were eliminated, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The IBO was conducted on October 8 in the Daraban area on the reported presence of Khawarij, the military's media wing said.

PTI’s Ali Amin Gandapur said on Wednesday that he will resign from his role as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister.

He made the announcement shortly after the party’s general secretary, Salman Akram Raja, confirmed that the incumbent CM would be replaced by Sohail Afridi on the directives of party founder Imran Khan.

Pakistan today marks the 20th anniversary of the devastating October 8, 2005, earthquake, one of the deadliest natural disasters in the country's history.

The day is commemorated in memory of the victims of the 7.6 magnitude earthquake that claimed the lives of over 87,000 people.

It struck around 8:52 am, hitting the northern districts of AJK and the adjoining areas of KP. In AJK, Muzaffarabad was the hardest hit, mainly because the epicentre of the earthquake was just 19 kilometres (12 miles) to its northeast.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad would return to Pakistan on October 9 (Thursday).

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dar made it clear that arrangements for Mushtaq’s return to Pakistan have been completed.

The tickets for the two-Test match series between Pakistan and South Africa will go on sale later today from 5pm, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said.

The online tickets will be available on the TCS website, while physical tickets for the Test matches will be available at TCS Express Centres from Thursday.

The tickets for six white-ball matches (three T20Is, three ODIs) will go on sale online and be available at TCS Express Centres from October 16.

PCB has announced free entrance to the public at General, First-Class, Premium, and VIP enclosures for Test matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

Tickets are available at the lowest price of PKR 400 for T20I matches in Rawalpindi and Lahore, and three ODI matches in Faisalabad.

The announcement further added that up to five tickets can be purchased on one Identity Card.

Former senator Mushtaq Ahmad, who was detained by the Israeli forces in the Gaza aid flotilla interception, has been released and safely with the Pakistan embassy in Amman, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed on Tuesday.

In a post on X, FM Dar stated: "I am pleased to confirm that former Senator Mushtaq has been released and is now safely with the Pakistan Embassy in Amman."

"He is in good health and high spirits. The Embassy stands ready to facilitate his return to Pakistan, in accordance with his wishes and convenience."
