Pakistani model and social media influencer Huma Saleem has levelled serious allegations against an unnamed national cricketer, accusing him of harassment, threats, emotional abuse, and attempting to sabotage her career.

In a message shared on Instagram story, the model detailed the distress she said she had been facing.

According to her, the unnamed cricketer, whom she described as a "cheat, fraud, and womaniser", had continued to target her despite the two having had no contact for the past two months.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Tuesday informed a parliamentary panel that telecom operators have launched 5G services in 22 cities under the first phase of the rollout.

Briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on IT & Telecom, PTA Chairman said the services have initially been enabled through existing mobile towers and network infrastructure.

He said dedicated new infrastructure would be deployed gradually in subsequent phases, which is expected to improve internet speed and service quality across the country over the next six to eight months.

A court in Rawalpindi on Tuesday sentenced Farrukh Khokhar to life imprisonment in the m*rder case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Majid Satti.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Afshan Ejaz Safi announced the verdict.

He was immediately handcuffed after the verdict and ordered to be transferred to Adiala Jail under tight security.

The prosecution accused Khokhar and his co-accused of m*rdering Majid Satti on August 23 2022. The case was registered at Sadiqabad Police Station.

The Drug Testing Laboratory Sindh has found 79 samples of medicines, herbal products, and syringes to be substandard or fake after testing thousands of samples this year.

According to the report, the laboratory tested 2,461 samples between January and July 13. Out of these, 79 samples did not meet the required quality standards.

The report showed that 30 auto-disable syringe samples were also found to be substandard or fake.

The mastermind behind the June 27 attack on a Rangers camp in Karachi, along with smugglers who supplied weapons to the terrorists, has been arrested, Counter Terrorism Department SSP Irfan Bahadur said on Tuesday.

Three Pakistan Rangers personnel were martyred and four others injured in the attack on the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi on June 27. Three attackers were killed, and one was arrested in an injured condition.

According to the CTD official, Muhammad Bashir was the mastermind behind the attack and was taken into custody after the incident. He said Bashir had coordinated all logistical arrangements with the help of 13 facilitators.

The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) on Monday overturned the Supreme Court's 2024 ruling ordering the demolition of Monal restaurant at Pir Sohawa, allowing appeals filed by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).

A constitutional bench headed by Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi issued a short order vacating the earlier ruling.

The court also directed the trial courts to decide the pending cases expeditiously, while administrative matters relating to the property would be determined by the relevant regulatory authorities.

The Punjab government has launched an ambitious initiative to establish Artificial Intelligence (AI) laboratories in government primary schools across the province, marking a major step towards integrating emerging technologies into early childhood education and preparing students for the demands of a rapidly evolving digital economy.

According to officials, the initiative, being pursued under the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, seeks to introduce AI education from the primary level through dedicated AI laboratories equipped with modern computing facilities, interactive learning tools and age-appropriate educational software.

The project is intended to familiarise children with artificial intelligence, coding, robotics, and digital literacy at an early stage while promoting problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) have successfully rescued all 20 Pakistani crew members from a sinking cargo dhow operating east of Ormara, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), PNS Hunain and the required aerial assets were diverted to undertake a rescue operation upon “receipt of a distress call to the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre”.

“All 20 crew members were safely recovered from the distressed vessel due to the professionalism displayed by the rescuers,” ISPR said, adding that all those rescued are being provided with the necessary medical attention.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced that it will hold a four-team One-Day tournament in August ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed, said the competition would take place before the start of the domestic first-class season and is aimed at identifying a core pool of players for the global event, which is approximately 18 months away.

"We have around 18 months until the 2027 World Cup, so this is the right time to begin our preparations," Javed said.
