Special Note
Democracy was not born in Greece, but in Islam. The selection of the caliph through consultation is a prime example. The selection of the third caliph was done through a referendum by the people of Medina, which is proven by history. The Quran has a chapter called Shura, which means committee, with the purpose of consultation. Before this, there were only two ways to govern the world: military invasion or hereditary monarchy. Islam introduced the concept of consultation and democratic elections to appoint rulers. This is proven by history.
