میری کہانی سُنو ❣️
I hope that my CSS story works as a glimmering hope for that aspirant who is witnessing setbacks after setbacks. Never look at someone's success from his/her current status, dress, comforts or smiles. Try to introspect how they've endured life before finally making it to that point. For many like me, success is not accomplished by chance. Years of burning the midnight oil, persistent hard work, various pressures and longings have characterized my CSS journey before the day of May 4th(2024) —when my darting eyes finally found my name in the result document after sipping tea at the Quetta cafe in Hyatabad,Peshawar.
I graduated in mid-2019 from QAU and had all geared up for the 2020 CSS attempt. A week before the Feb 2020 CSS exam, I found myself in the coronavirus patients' ward that pierced my every hope and energy. Gathering all my optimistic existence, I revised my notes and exams tips for the next attempt. A month before Feb 2021, I met a fatal incident which shattered every aspect of my life... But still, with a reinvigorated self, I began chasing my dream afresh to attempt the CSS 2022 exam. But fate had another pathogen lurking in the dark for me. Four days before the exam, I experienced an unprecedented surge in my body temperature. After diagnosing it, it was found that I was suffering from dengue!
Some would call it a misfortune; others would question my preparation, dismissing it as mere pretence to avoid the exam—only I knew the weight of the storm I was weathering in silence. However, my few friends and family would call it Allah's plan to endow me with something better. And I concurred with the latter. For me, the challenge was not study, it was maintaining my motivation and upholding the belief in my dream. And, I maintained it, I uphold it with Allah's almighty assistance in multiple ways.
So, if there is anyone out there who struggles with an issue of even a different nature—financial, health, relationship, family etc— let me tell them you are not alone, I can relate to you. Never give up, never let your dream sink under the hubris of your hardships. Never assume that it's only you who have challenges. Never think that you'll accomplish your dream only when you have zero problems around you. Learn to study alongside issues. I can assure you that the day your searching and 'darting eyes' find your name in the list, 80% of your issues will disappear the same day and solutions for the remaining 20% would become easier.
Finally, I assure you that all your hardships, your awakened nights and missed events will be compensated by Allah almighty that day. You'll be proud of yourself, of your mind and your pen. Good luck.

From Failures to Triumph: Mr. Abdullah Khan's Journey to Becoming a Civil Servant
(CsS2021/2022, PAAS, 51st CTP)

(Note: He will be serving as Qualitative CSS-PMS Academy's Team Member in Upcoming Sessions.)

Failure is not the opposite of success—it's part of it. My story is a testament to this truth, marked by struggle, resilience, and the unwavering support of my loved ones.

2005: Life took a difficult turn when I was just eight years old. My father(Haji Fiaz Hussain) passed away, leaving my mother with the enormous task of raising and educating us. A courageous and selfless woman, she sacrificed her needs and luxuries for our future.

2009-2010: My academic journey started on a rocky path. I failed my matriculation exams, a moment that could have shattered my confidence. But my mother’s strength knew no bounds—she sold her jewelry so I could attend a boarding school for FSc. Her faith became my motivation.

2012-2014: In boarding school, I poured my heart into my studies, determined to honor my mother’s sacrifices. I performed well and secured admission to the prestigious University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore.

2014-2018: What seemed like a dream soon became a struggle. Engineering was not my calling, and I found myself failing course after course—accumulating almost 20 F grades. Despite the academic turmoil, I didn't give up.

2018: Upon graduation, I realized that my true passion lay elsewhere. I decided to prepare for Pakistan's most challenging exams: the CSS and PMS competitive exams.

2019-2020: I attempted PMS twice and passed both times but couldn't secure an allocation. The disappointment was immense. However, I kept moving forward, fueled by the belief that hard work never goes unrewarded.

2021: My first CSS attempt was successful, but I wasn’t allocated a post. People would constantly ask, “Kia hua? Kab lagay gi naukri?” (What happened? When will you get a job?). I would respond with unwavering faith: “Allah khair karega, ho jayega.” (God will provide, it will happen.)

2022: With renewed determination, I attempted CSS again—and this time, I not only passed but also secured an allocation. Victory tasted even sweeter after the long journey filled with setbacks.

Throughout this journey, I also cleared several other competitive exams and earned allocations in roles such as:
- Customs Inspector
- Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies
- AD ASF
- Appraisal Officer Customs

This success would not have been possible without the support of my family. My stepfather (Haji Tariq Afridi), who treated us as his own children, stood by us without hesitation. My Khala (Mrs. Latif Khan) and her husband Latif Khan provided moral and financial support. My Mamun Shakoor Khan, Mamun Bilal Afridi (an engineer) and some special people I can't name here were always there to lift me up. Their belief in me never wavered.

Lessons Learned:

Life will test you. It will push you to the edge. But if you have faith, resilience, and the right people by your side, no obstacle is insurmountable. I went from failing matriculation to passing one of Pakistan's toughest exams. My journey is proof that "failure is not the end—it’s the beginning of a remarkable story."

To anyone facing setbacks, remember:
Success is not defined by the number of times you fall but by the strength with which you rise.
