Imprisoned PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, and Senator Ejaz Chaudhary have announced their support for Jamaat-e-Islami’s nationwide sit-ins against inflation, petroleum levies, and rising electricity prices. In a joint statement from Kot Lakhpat Jail, the leaders urged PTI’s central leadership to formally support what they described as a public struggle for relief from rising costs. They also called on the country’s youth to actively participate in Jamaat-e-Islami’s campaign and put pressure on the government to abolish the petroleum levy system and reduce inflation. The leaders said soaring prices of petroleum products and electricity have placed a severe burden on the public, stressing that a united and collective struggle is needed to address people’s grievances.
