Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb stated that providing relief to the public despite rising oil prices reflects strong and responsible leadership.
In her statement on social media platform X, she said this is not just a single decision but a clear example of responsible governance, effective strategy, and strong fiscal management.
Praising the Prime Minister, she said that despite continuous increases in global oil prices, the burden was not passed on to the public for a month, calling it a commendable move.
She further added that while many countries faced fuel shortages and sharp price hikes globally, Pakistan was protected from the worst effects due to strong policies and effective supply chain management.
Maryam Aurangzeb emphasized that this is the difference between responsible leadership and leadership that pushes the country into crises for political survival.
She said every Pakistani should feel proud that the country is being led by a serious and responsible leader like Shehbaz Sharif, who is taking practical steps to provide relief even in difficult times.
She added that when price increases became unavoidable, instead of shifting the full burden onto the public, it was balanced through targeted subsidies.
According to her, special relief has been provided to:
Two-wheeler users (working class)
Small farmers (owning less than 25 acres of land)
Transport sector
She concluded that true leadership stands with the people in difficult times, understands their problems, and takes practical measures to address them. She also appreciated coordination between the federal and provincial governments and praised all chief ministers.
She expressed confidence that the nation will face these challenges with unity, and more relief will be provided as global conditions improve.
