Islamabad is moving toward a smarter future with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) mandating M-Tags for all vehicles entering the city. Announced by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the initiative also includes a citywide digital parking system.
Vehicles without M-Tags will be denied entry, and smart meters will regulate parking costs based on congestion levels. Citizens will soon be able to book, reserve, and pay for parking via mobile apps or QR codes, eliminating the need for cash.
The CDA’s One Window Center is also going digital, enabling online payments for various civic services.
